Oil change, intervals?

Hello,My versa has only 7k on it, and I got first oil change at alittle over 3k.

Im curious as too when I need to change it next, ive heard I can go to 5k fine. Right now its at 3100 on the first oil change. I drive 150 miles roundtrip a day, and since its a 6mt its held at 4k alot driving on the interstate.Thanks

With interstate driving I'd say 4,000 to 4,500 wouldn't be a problem. I usually just do 3500 or a little over, but a lot of city driving for me now.

They say you can go around 4-5,000 miles between changes with the tech in oil and engines nowadays. I take mine to the dealer and get it done whenever they say though. That way they cant blame me for anything if the V takes a dump.

expect just as many opinions as there are forum members. A search will reveal plenty of discussions on this topic. I backed up my intervals with actual oil analysis that indicated 5-7k on dino oil and 10k on synthetic.

I got mine at almost 8000 km (~5000 miles) with 90% highway driving. It wasn't my choice to get the oil change at that km, I would have preferred something around 5-6000 km, but I was working out of town and couldn't make it back at those mileage.

I'm starting to regret it though, my engine is getting noisy and my V stalled on my way home at the lights today.

im traditional, im a every 3k for me, the last car i had was the same way and i sold it at 200k on it plus it never burned oil or nothing wrong with the engine at all
