Hey all.

Are there any issues that could arise by accidentally servicing my 5.6 as a hybrid?

About 3 weeks ago I was in for an oil change and while checking my oil today at the pump, noticed it was clean, but really low. Took it back to the dealer and apparently they did an oil change for the hybrid :tisk:

They fixed it. I made a small stink about it (spoke to the manager etc), and got them to put their stupid story in writing on the bill.

They said it should be fine, but this is an expensive car, and I trust dealers about as far as I could throw em. So figured I'd check with you guys.

Should be ok. Couple of questions: what year, and mileage is it? About how low was the oil (bottom of dipstick line?) and how many miles do you think you ran it like that?

Thanks for the reply.

2015 with 48000kms, so about 30000mi.

It was just above the bottom line. They said they put in 4L. From my googling the hybrid/5.6 filters seem the same, but the oil viscosity may be different?

I basically drove a full tank (I check my oil every fill-up) that included a small road trip of about 200kms (124mi) of highway driving. Opened her up a little bit once, but I don't beat on this car, ever.

Yeah, I'd like to hear from more experts on this forum but I think you are fine. My 2011 5.6 eats oil as I go so I have to top it off regularly. It's important because of the high pressure fuel pump that runs off of the cam, there's a forum thread on here about it and how low oil can cause problems but that is more of a long term problem. For now, I think it's good.
