I recently purchased a 1990 300zx na at a car auction it has 65k miles on it and i love it to death. i noticed when im at a low rpm or cruising at a low speed like 40 mph the pressure drops very low near the zero mark i was wondering what the pressure should be at. also would 65k miles be good to switch to synthetic im not sure if regular or synthetic is in there now anyway. there are no oil leaks and the oil looks new or recently replaced.

the oil is driven by a mechanical pump. so at low rpm's, there isn't much pressure. it is like that one all z32's. pics of your car anytime soon?

Congrats on the new car! It should be around 15-20psi at idle, and 35-45 at light cruising. If it hasn't yet had the timing belt/ 60k service done, I highly recommend that you do it ASAP. You should be fine switching to synthetic, just keep a lookout for any leaks for the first couple hundred miles to make sure the seals are still working (and if you are getting ready to do the 60k service w/ new oil seals on the front, then they should definitely hold up for you).
