who told you to take oil with you? In the very slim chance you actually needed it, you can always but it at any gas station.Vahagn23 wrote:HI, planning on a long road trip, I was told to take oil with me. What kind of oil does the V take?
are you going to Death Valley? You will definitely be prepared which is good, but I will hope you do not need any of those. Have a great trip and drive safely.Vahagn23 wrote:I went to the dealer, they told me oil, anti-freeze or coolant, and transmission oil.
I understand their reasoning if they were trying to sell you oil, anti-freeze & transmission fluid. If they weren't trying to sell you product, I have no idea why they would tell such nonsense.Vahagn23 wrote:I went to the dealer, they told me oil, anti-freeze or coolant, and transmission oil.
lol....I'm sorry I could't help but laugh at this comment as a quite often trip for me is from my home in Bakersfield, CA to Las Vegas NV which while it doesn't actually go through the Death Valley it does come pretty close and does go through the Mojave Desertfjwagner wrote:are you going to Death Valley?
I love that part of the country. Pretty in it's own unique way.Gr8dave37 wrote:

Will not hurt it, but why would you? Lower gas mileage due to thicker oil. If you have a quart lying around the garage, not a problem mix it with 5-30 on an oil change or adding some oil if a little low.Vahagn23 wrote:What will happen if I put lets say 20w-40 oil in the car?
Unless you are routinely having to add these fluids, there would be no real need to bring them on a trip.Vahagn23 wrote:I went to the dealer, they told me oil, anti-freeze or coolant, and transmission oil.
