ok i did some research, some helped. but ne ways every time i get on the highway for more than an hour my shifter gets pretty hot. my floor doesnt get to bad ( my ka was worse) but it just doesnt feel safe and im driving up to pa this weekend. so could i just get some opinions on whether i should buy a transmission cooler or maby put some thicker fluid. and how does the transmission cooler work with a MT. i read that there is an external pump needed or somthing.??? about the oil cooler first off do i need one. i read that u really dont if its not a track car. but then ian stated that sr's like to cook thier oil. i wouldnt know i dont have an oil temp gauge. i also read that the greddy oil pan works the same way as a cooler would but i would like to get different sway bars and some specify that the bars will not clear the oversized oil pan. and does any one know where i can get this sh1t cheap. i have a week to get this done and im broke

Supporting mod's NEVER hurt your car when installed properly.

If you can not afford it right now, take it easy on your car. As long as you are not abusing her she should be fine driving at any distance (with minor exceptions).

If you are really worried, invest in (a) decent gauge(s) of your choice to monitor vital points of you machine and if you feel you need coolers. Save up and buy them.

Good luck, hope this helped!

^ if anything just get some gauges. For the manual transmission i would make sure the level is good before you go on your trip.

ijust asked this same question lol

as it was explained to me that if your shifter is gettin noticably hot then a) your either low on liquidsorb) something is really wrong with your transmission

or c) your exhuast is super heating your underies lol ( my case)

haha yea i know i read up on it thats where i got most of my info but it didnt really explain everything i wanted to know. i was reading about yours. thats crazy. mines not burning the carpet lol but the shift knob get as hot as if you would leave your car out in the sunlight with the windows up

but about somthing being wrong with my transmission i do have a noise when i am in gear and decelerating . its like a cha cha cha noise until i get back on the throttle it will persist. but i thought that could be due to the transmission getting to hot

I'm assuming you've checked the fluid level... yes?
