What am I doing wrong?

Sperry DM-5300 Digital Meter

Scale set at 2K

Injectors in fuel rail, fuel rail off the engine and on the bench, (I'm in the process of replacing KS's), do I hook-up the injector wiring harness and check thu those wires? The readings I got were straight off the 2 pins on the injectors themselves....I must have this *** backwards...

I get readings of .012 on all eight injectors...I thought it was supposed to be .11 to .14....or 10.0 to 14.0 or something like that...

I get a closed circuit on all other meter scales....

Your supposed to measure on the pins and it should be 10-14 ohms I believe.

You need it on the lowest setting, usually like 200 or something.....

.012 on 2k ohm would be 12 ohms... So your doing it right..... There will just be decimal and 0 before the actual reading.

Wes says, ".012 on 2k ohm would be 12 ohms... So your doing it right..... There will just be decimal and 0 before the actual reading."

That's what I was hoping to hear...ordered more hoses and gaskets this AM, from Joe...He said the Injector Harness was something like $150 for my Car...$40 something for some others...so I passed on the harness...

Thanks....

Meaux, you might also look on your meter for a diode scale --|>|--sorry that's crude picture, but you get the idea. sometimes these beep, too. anyway it should be ~ 0-300 ohms range and may give you direct readings [without having to shift 3 decimal places], but it sounds like your injectors meet the crude pass/fail criterion anyway.

btw, i ordered 3 of the 67u10 injectors this morning from Joe, and he said those were his last 3. so, if you were needing those--let me know and I'll have them diverted to you since you are in process and i haven't started yet. I'm not always that nice though.....

PS- i've also ordered the lower runner gaskets 'just in case' [maxnix]. Meaux, can you or anyone tell me does each bank of runners come off as 4 [fuel rail attach holding them all together]?Joe didn't have the fuel rail to runner rubber--so I'm hoping to not disturb that part [keep the rail attached to the runners even if i take a bank of runners out].

Thanks on the Injectors, but it seems like mine are OK.

The runners are all seperate and I had thought about removing them with the rails, but for some reason, which escapes me now, I decieded to just remove the fuel rails, and then the intake runners. I'm hoping to install the fuel rails with the intake runners kinda loose so they will sit proper in the rubber.....I'm re-using mine...They look fine. Heck my "Y" pipe hoses were really pliable, almost like new, but I ordered new ones anyway...

Each runner is fastened to the rail, so you can remove the runners in sets of 4 if you prefer.
