Like almost everyone on this board I'm trying desperately to remove a P1320 code thats paired with a rough idle. The rough idle goes away once it gets any gas. So today I pulled out all of my coil packs and checked them with my multi meter, I got 1.7 on 4 of the 6 packs. The other two were 1.3 (aftermarket pack) and 1.45 (older OEM Nissan). Does anyone know if these numbers are far enough off of the recommended spec to need to be replaced?

The FSM states that when you check terminals 2 and 3 on the coil pack, you are OK as long as you don't have 0 resistance (a closed circuit). However, there are many other steps to take before you check the coil pack, such as checking continuity between the harness and the ECM.

Here is the link to the 2001 OX4 factory service manual: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/QX4/2001%20 ... System.pdf

Start at page EC-508. I assume you don't have Consult (Nissan's proprietary troubleshooting computer), so you will begin troubleshooting at Step 12.

If you have the 2001.5, you may have to look up that particular FSM. You can find a list in the "General Info and FAQ" sticky at the Pathfinder/QX4 board index.

For what it's worth, in my experience the resistance values for coil packs unfortunately don't always provide a reliable measure of whether or not they are faulty.

Interesting, what would be your best solution to identifying the bad coil pack or packs?

If there is one, I don't know it.

If I were you, I would follow the troubleshooting steps. There is good reason why the FSM lists things to check in a certain order.

If everything checks out OK, you could buy one coil pack and switch it out with the others one-by-one until the problem goes away. I believe the #1 coil, however, is different than the rest.
