ok ok ok i know ive had numerous questions about this in the past...

Tomorrow begins my first lighting install in my friends xB..

I understand now (thru docs help) most of the process... but what im concerned with is resistors of some sort...

I have a bunch of leds, cold cathodes, and other lights i will be connecting directly to the battery... i will have the appropriate inline mini-fuse and switch connected...

What else needs to be in the mix... is a resistor/regulator required... does this OHM rule mean anything?

Watts/volts= AmpsorAmps X Volts= watts

PS. If the wires get hot or smoke you did something wrong

Ohms law doesnt really apply here. audio setups as you know run between 2-4 ohms, but lights and leds and stuff like that actually have a resistance of more like 75 ohms or so. even though lower ohms equal more power, higher ohms are cleaner and more efficient, and most importantly run much cooler. thats why many jl audio subs run 8 ohms, it stays cool and has clean power. it takes more power to power an 8 ohm sub, but if you run jl you can probably afford it. Haha so in short dont wory about ohms law.

with the fuse in line you should be totally fine.

Yea, ohms change with lighting depending on temperature. Operating resistance is different than cold resistance. Please for God Sakes, DO NOT USE A MULTIMETER TO MEASURE FROM THE BATTERY 12V SOURCE AND ACCIDENTLY HIT A GROUND. You will blow you meter. Or if the fuse fails you will spot weld your meter leads to the respective sources and your battery WILL explode. Bad times

That actually sounds cool. Wouldn't want to do it though. Thanks for the tip Blake!
