I decided to start this Sunday morning by doing some work to my car. Unfortunately it is now the afternoon and i still haven't accoplished anything. Here we go:

1. I went to replace my rear brake pads and only the right side has wear...almost to the metal. The left side is almost brand new!

2. I also wanted to repair my window amp (per the post on the technical section) but can not locate that little amp. Is it because i have a 96se? I do have an infinity box with some amp boxes but they all seem to be for audio components.

Help please i don't even know where to start now

When you do the rear brakes make sure you pull the slide pins out of the calipers and grease them. If your rotor is metal to metal check the thickness and see if it within spec. If you have about. 050 inch ro play with then get it Turned. If not unbolt the caliper and replace it. Either way its gotta be removed. If the caliper hardware is rusty replace it.

The window amp is built into the switch on the 96-98 model.

GOLDEN, i figured it wasn't there. (I mentioned in another thread that i spayed pb blaster all over the inside of my door. Do you think i shorted the window motor? If not should i replace the switch and hope for the best?)

As far as the caliper it's not metal to metal...but very little of my pad is left. So you think it's probably a stuck caliper pin? Last time that happened to my miata it was a PAIN to fix, yes fix not replace. Should i look into some sort of rear caliper upgrade? if so what am i looking for?

I wouldn't replace the switch until you check it (unless you have 300$ burning a hole in your pocket)!Unplug the motor, hook your volt meter to the plug and see if you are getting power. As far as the brake problem, just unbolt the caliper from the bracket and see if pins will slide in and out.If they move freely then you could have a sticking piston or a brake hose problem.I would upgrade the front brakes first unless you are going to do all four at once.
