Someone just backed up into my 94 Q45. Looks like I will need another hood and bumper. There is one big dent on the right side of the grill and strape marks and chips on the bumper. If anyone can give me a quick estimate of the cost before I have to go to the junkyard or dealer. Thanx, Dame P.S. It is really hard to upload pics of my ride on here!!!

I wonder how much would a body shop estimate be for a hood? Anybody with info hit me up.

Your best bet is find a hood and grill of the same color from one of the Q45s being parted out in the Infiniti Parts Forum, and have it shipped to you. You might want to go with a new bumper cover - probably not too spendy.

You can call Joe at Infiniti of Scottsdale, 1-888-216-5328, a NICO sponsor, for new part prices, so you'll know how much labor a body shop is asking.

Sorry to hear about the bozo who drives into other people's cars.

Just called Infiniti and priced the hood unpainted $550 + $160 for s/h. The front bumper was $300. Im thinkimg it would be better if I just get the body work on the hood. Either way will be an expensive job.

I've had Classic Auto Rebuild work on my G50. They are not inexpensive, but they do it correctly, unlike the many low bidders around. Always someone up there who went to a low bidder and the Classic guys are real nice, but the rust proofing being omitted and used parts incorrectly installed etc. are just amazing. Now the disgruntled owner has to take it back to the hack shop so they can attempt to repair it correctly, bring it back to Classic when the hack shop can't or won't repair it correctly, then pay Classic to repair it correctly, then go sue the hack shop. There goes the bargain repair withthe low bidder.

If your hood is bent where it is desigend to be bent in a collision, you will have to get a new hood. Few local yards have any G50 in them

It's probably not hard to find used parts around if you're painting anyway. I know my local junkyard has one, but shipping might expensive.

Don't you have insurance? Pay the deductible and let your insurance company take care of it. My guess is it will cost about $1200 for new hood and bumper.

Did you catch the culprit? I'd have beat them senseless, and then sued them.

Damn. That's pretty f-ed up.

I swear, I never feel at ease if my Q isn't in my direct line of sight. If I ever start getting antsy, I go outside and make sure it's ok. In fact, I'm going outside for a cigarette now and I'm going to check up on it.

Whatever, the Q is an extension of my soul and personality.
