Ok so I have a 2.5 CVT and while driving recently I can hear a winding noise. As I accelerate and get to higher rpms it get louder especially before shifting. I put in N and didn't hear it much. In manual mode it is even louder. My car basically sounds like a toy remote control car and the sound is def coming from the transmission area. Anybody have similar issues?? :tisk:

are you guys talking about the dual variable intake opening up in the higher RPMs? If so then our intake manifold was designed for that. when you get in the higher RPMs, a 2nd more direct route opens up to make more power and it makes a whining sound.

Ok so I brang it to the dealership and the service manager took a ride with me. We didn't hear much noise of course but he ordered me a new transmission anyways. I guess because I am there so much and he knew the noise I was talking about he took my word for it. Hussain this noise was much louder then anything you mention I think....mmx dude take your car to the dealership and have them check it out.

Yea you got to really listen for it because I didn't even realize it because of my intake. My girl heard it when she was driving then I started to pick it up. No they did not tell me exactly what is wrong with the transmission just that I need a new one.
