Driving along the other day, taking some scenic back roads at a reasonably fun rate of speed, when, suddenly, there's a small pop and the car winds down. No dramatic puffs of smoke, no massive puddles under the car once it stops, the temp gauge was in the perfectly normal range, I was running premium, pop the hood and all belts seemed to be intact, but it wouldn't restart. I had had some erratic idle issues previously and best guess going seems to be alternator right now. Anything else a possibility? Fuses all seemed to be good. Any and all help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Check your battery's voltage. The car wouldn't die unless the alternator was out AND the battery was somewhat drained. Usually alternator problems cause some lights to come on.

Just the coil, which I was up to do on Saturday, so the Miteymax got a tune-up and is back in running form YEAH!
