My head gasket blew today. Anyone know where there is a walk through on doing the head gasket. I searched around a little but have not come up with to much yet. I would like to go ahead and do a swap but I don't have the funds right now since I just finally got called back to work after 6 months of being laid off. Plus my lung collapsed spontaneously and I didn't have insurance. So I have random doctor bills just rolling in........... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and on a secondary note. If anyone has any extra parts laying around. I need a new switch for my little back windows it got old and brittle from the sun and broke a few weeks ago. Feel free to shoot a price at me if you have an extra.

Hope this helps...

I would go to search and type in KA24DE Head Gasket

...there were quite a few threads you may want to look through there.

I found a good thread from my cell phone when it first happened from google but I can't find it from my computer go figure Thanks for helping out. I have a repair manual it may show the process. I read something about tying the chain up so you don't lose the timing. I was wondering if anyone had a pic of that. I am interested to see how they did this. I assume I will go ahead and check my chain guides to since I will be tearing everything apart.

Yeah i dont know what else to suggest lol... all you could really do is search and pray that you some across a good thread (with pics *ahem*) to reference off of.

I was also gonna say that you might wanna pick up a Chiltons repair manual or something but I see that you already got one... so nevermind lol

Rear window switches should still be available through the dealerships.
