Oh no! My sister listens to Avril Lavinge

So today I was walking to my room to grab my Hail to the thief Radiohead album when I hear the shrill and annoying singing voice of the #1 canadian jerk-woman who is still a minor... Avril Lavinge singing about some guy whom she thought was "everything that she wanted" and her happy ending being over. I thought maybe my sister had a stroke and just left the radio on a crappy station so I just made my way downstairs.

A few minutes later I hear the crappy guitar riffs, dull bass and repetitive drum beats with her voice. That voice soooo full of punk anger. : I go upstairs, because maybe she REALLY did have a stroke. I walk in on her to find out that nope, she didn't have a stroke, it was much worse, she had bought the CD.

I'm at a loss here. What to do? What should I do?

Well, it's gonna be hard to do, but just take her out back and giver her the ol' yeller treatment. Over time you'll move on and forget, hopefully your parents will understand.

Perhaps it's time that you set up an intervention for her. Remember, she'll need your support. She'll just have to deal with her struggle against crappy manufactured pop music one day at a time. Be strong for her man!

Pop Punk is not all Blink 182 and Avril Lavene. Many a great band is also labeled pop punk. The first that comes to mind are the Decendents! Great Punk band. So funk all this BS Pop Punk.

pop punk is mainly stuff that has a steady beat and understandable lyrics it seems...

the stuff I personally prefer...

most stuff being called "pop punk" right now is just pop.
