Yeah we should start a late Jan early Feb SR club. And post the progress of our swaps etc...kind of like a "where are they now", maybe 3 months from now, then 6 months from now. Post 1/4 mi times etc. We should also make it a 'Daunttless first shipment' club also. :))

implict don't forget to keep us all updated with the FlashOptions mid jan shipment. Your not too far from me, I'm in Orlando, let me know how it goes.

i know this thread is coming back from the dead but i just wanted to post a few pics of my car now.

it didn't turn out as great as we hoped because we used a new HVLP gun instead of our trusty conventional gun. All the spots can be compunded out though , so it will look good.

What color is that? Did you strip the whole cars paint before repainting it? Did you do that yourself? What spots are you talking about ? The reason why i ask is because im thinking about stripping the paint off my S14, then prepping it up for paint... Thanks

I do not remember the paint code for it but it is a PPG paint. You cannot see the spots in those pictures because i didn't take pictures of the bad spots. the "bad" spots are only 2 little runs in the 2nd coat of clear I put on. But any imperfections in the clear coat can be lightly wet sanded and compounded to perfection.

Yes I can of painted it myself.I was a combo of my dad and I . I myself have never painted a car before. But my dad has painted dozens but long ago. And the new paints are a 2 part epoxy , and he was used to laqor paints.

We fixed all the dents and scratches in the body , and we roughed up the old paint and pretty much took the old paint off. Any kind of body work takes lots of time , most of my car is apart right now because of painting it , but it is not my daily driver so it is not a problem.

you can see more photos at http://www.cardomain.com/id/chrispy2

Im assuming you used an air compressor? How much was that paint gun? How much paint did you use? like a half gallon? Car looks great man.. Im in the process or prepping it up ... i cant wait to either get it painted or paint it myself...

we own a automotive repair shop , so we have about 4 huge air tanks and two enormous air compressors feeding those tanks. My dad owns about 7 conventional paint guns from the old days , they still work but they have alot of overspray. The new gun is s high volume low pressure (HVLP). We bought it used for 220 , it was only 5 months old and it was 670 new , when the guy bought it. It is a devilvus (sp?) . We used 2 or 3 quarts of sandable primer , i think 1 quart of sealer epoxy/primer , and we got a 3 quarts of actual paint , and we probably only used about 2.25 quarts of it. But we didn't spray the front or rear bumpers yet.
