So I officially hate JEGS. They always seemed like a good company, I've never head bad things about them.

Well, two piston rings (lower rings) that came with my wiseco pistons were over-gapped out of the box. I didn't get anywhere with Wiseco, so I said screw it, this is taking to long, I'm just going to buy 2 new sets. Went to good 'ol JEGS and dropped $50 on 2 sets of rings. I got one set in about 4 days. Wondering where my second set of rings were, I called. They said they send them. Awesome. After a lot of talking (and a week) they realized they didn't send them and finally sent them out. I received them 3 days later.

Well wouldn't you know, THESE rings are over-gapped too (srsly, wtf wiseco.) So, I sent one set back and requested a replacement. I had to pay shipping for it ($10), which makes no sense because its not my fault the rings are defective. But whatever, I just wanted the right rings so I could finish my bottom end, which has been sitting for about 3 weeks now because of this crap. Two days later, I get an email "Congratulations, your JEGS gift card is on the way!" Gift card? These guys refunded me $24.99 for the rings (without shipping) instead of sending me a replacement. WHAT THE HECK MAN I DONT WANT A GIFT CARD.

So I called up JEGS customer support. Sure I'll buy another set of rings with their damn gift card (and pay another $10 shipping). BUT, I still have this second set of rings that I have yet to send back. I don't want to pay shipping on a manufacturer mistake, so I asked about it. Nope, I have to pay shipping (another $10).

So when its all said and done, I'll have shelled out $30 dollars for freaking shipping, because of a manufacturer defect. So in the end $80 for two sets of freaking piston rings. AND thats assuming I don't get over-gapped rings again.

I am irate right now. Needed to vent.

That's some BS, man. I would shoot off a letter and let it be known that you won't ever get from them again.

JEGS SUCKS! that letter would be wasted they do not care about customers

Back in 2000 when I built the 327 for my Jeep I used them for about $3,000 of the $7500 I spent building the motor. I had a pretty big order coming in that included most of the valve train over $1000. I ordered expecting delivery on a date and took off work to finish building the motor. The order never came so I called Jegs and they told me it shipped, a day and a few phone calls later Jegs figured out opps it didn't ship. After wasting a day of vacation and being lied to I went off and they HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and they hung up on me again. My order eventually did come the next week but Jegs never would talk to me on the phone as soon as I gave my phone/account number they hung up.

Don't give Jegs a dime of your money they are jerks you can not count on them for anything.

I finished the motor with parts from Summit Racing and never had a problem the prices were a little better too. Summit Racing had Milodon build me a custom chrome oil pan & pump that gave me 7 quarts and cleared my front axle. 100% better service at Summit Racing.

So its not just me. This is really confusing. They've been around for so long, how are they getting away with such crappy customer service?

I went back and looked at my Jeep receipts and it was PAW that I used not Summit. Looks like PAW is out of biz except for a very very limited Ebay store. I did use summit for a couple things, fuel cell and lines, painless wiring kit. They were better then Jegs but then you wouldn't really have to try too hard.

If summit carried the piston rings that I need, I'd be all over it. Also, ordered a new set of rings from JEGS with their damned gift card on sunday. I have yet to receive a purchase confirmation email let alone a shipping confirmation. I cant wait to be done with these jokers.

They are probably reading this thread and will send you a box of turds

If its not in the catalog Summit should still be able to get it. In a month or so when Jegs stil has not sent you the correct part and is hanging up on you because you dared to get upset at their piss poor service give Summit a call.

I'll gladly send them 2 boxes of burrito turds, prepaid shipping. I'm going to ask for a REAL refund for the second set of rings and see what summit can do for me

I think I bought plugs at JEGS once, buddy of mine told me to stop giving them business because of service issues, so I stopped. I've been a big supporter of Summit for years. Thousands of dollars and never once an issue.

Like mentioned, call the techline as ask for whatever parts you need, they can get anything.

Put the rings in a ziplock full of piss and send it back. f***.

Everyone do yourselves a favor and dont EVER order ANYTHING from JEGS.

Sent in my last two sets of defective rings for replacement, Wiseco Rings, model number 8950XX.

Well today I received ONE set of Wiseco 8950YD rings. WHAT THE HELL. WHAT THE HELL. WHAT THE HELL.

Received the second set of incorrect rings. Tomorrow I'm going to call them, give them a peice of my mind, and then take my money to Summit. I was hoping not to lose $50, but this is retarded. My engine has been sitting there for more than a month now because of these jokers.

This reminds me of one time I bought from RockAuto. They were always usually great, but they just didn't understand what a tie rod end was supposed to be for my old S12. It took them 4 times to get it right, but at least they covered the shipping the whole way...

its no accident let me know how your discussion with them goes I am not surprised at all how this turned out. Don't worry though as Jegs will point out somehow then entire thing is your fault.

Is at least in a new box, or did they just ship you the same damn thing back?
Can you order directly from Wiseco?
Can you order from one of our sponsors?

They put in a replacement order for a completely different part number, so now I have rings that don't even fit on my pistons.

I think I can order direct from wiseco, but I made the mistake of ordering from JEGS in the first place, so my money is tied up with them. I've spent about 30 dollars in return shipping alone at this point.

After my final tomorrow, I'm going to call them up and let them know what I think about their customer service. I'd ask for a refund, but they're going to give me another gift card, and I will NOT be spending anymore money there. After I talk to them I'll post up a video on my youtube channel of my experience. JEGS downright sucks man. A month and a half my engine has been sitting there because of these clowns. I'm going to hit up Summit and see what they can do for me.

Tell summit about your Jegs experience I will bet you they say they hear your story a few times a day. There is zero reason for a company like Jegs to be in business in 2012 offering mail order service in the internet age.
