so as im pulling into school just now i was driving through the lot trying to find a spot when i noticed security running at me and motioning for me to stop. so... i stopped and rolled down the window wondering what i had done now.

They then decide to inform me that im not allowed to park my car in front of the school. i asked why and then they said, "Cause your car is too SWEET to park here"? WTF? lol they then started asking 5 million questions. one thought it was a GT-R and the other a 350z. lol they didnt believe me when i said it was an altima.

They said that they HATE the altima coupes but fell in love with mine.

Its things like this that make me appreciate putting money into my car and having one hell of a car payment.

Ah... So I have. LOL

BTW...nice work on the fascia. One of the only ones I've seen that doesn'tsag even a bit. The fascia matches the hood line perfectly. I usually seethem bow just a bit.

Nice work....mine will look very similar when finished.

They thought it was a GT-R or a Z?

I can understand a G, but a Skyline or a Z? Wow, those guys must not know their cars.

could you be more descriptive on how you did that, cuz I'm thinking seriously about putting the fasciaon my car and I want it straight, and I think I'll need to explain to the body shop what to do.

I know about the stock brace, but this is the first I've heard about using the styrofome. Most people have just taken it out all together.

Where did you put it exactly, and how does that keep it straight?

Behind it? But the part that sags is the upper part of the grille, not where the foam piece originally was located: in front of the bumper support.

I think you are just misleading us in order to keep your secret

look closely at the center of my grill. you will notice that the two center bars kinda move away from each other. you can only see it cause the reflection. but i cut the ends off the styrofoam since they are angled. then stuck them up against the back side of the grill so that the back of the foam and ac cooler are parallel with each other. there will still be a gap there. then cut two more pieces off and wedge between the other piece and the ac cooler or what ever it is. my car is black so you dont notice it any. i cant promise the same for a colored car.

once the pieces are wedged in there just push up on them until you get the bumper to where you want it. then tape the pieces of foam together with elctrical tape. its rigged but it works. and where it is wedged in you dont have to worry about it falling out.

and all this can be done with the bumper on. just reach through the bottom and up behind the metal bumper brace. i just hope you have small arms like me.

oh and a can of flat black paint will be your BEST FRIEND!!! if you look close you can see my windshield wiper fluid bottle through the passenger hole. and the a/c lines will stick out badly. you can see where i painted them and just about everything else behind the bumper except the radiator and a/c cooler. (or what ever the hell that thing is)

if you dont know what im talking about you will see once you get the other bumper on. and its best to do it while the bumper is off so dont forget. or you can just put mesh in there like everyone else but i like the looks of this better. just alot cleaner IMO

lol be nice! Not everyone is from NY ya clown!

Its funny how you can just spit out all the details of the job from looking at the picture. How much time do you think was spent on the picture on the grass post shot?

Guys...he made a post about this a couple of days ago! It was shot in HDR, and that's why it's got that wicked shine to it! You can get an effect like that in PS, but if he claims it's HDR then I'm likely to believe him.

heres what i beleive,,,the image was shot in raw...then worked very well...the color balance is TOO perfect..look at the color on the hood...from the daylight...and the color of the shadows (two different white balances) ...yet .....its spot on...so..unless our friend has a 35,000 digi back on a med format...i still say this is NOT a right outta the box shot...this is in no way saying its a false image...its a perfected image....save for the fence...lol
How much time do you think was spent on the picture on the grass post shot?
depends on the skill level over the user...but judging from the photo itself and the skill needed to produce it...you can achieve the look in about 20 30 mins..hes propbalby layering..im sure mched will back up the forensic claim of this..

An HDR shot in AWB would easily explain the discrepancy between the hood & shadows. I often do nighttime panoramas and I've found (especially with my 40D) that unless you manually set your WB the entire setup will be off. It really surprised me because with my old 300D I could leave it on AWB and the colours turned out just fine...then I tried an 18 shot pano with the 40D and had to scrap both ends of it because the colours were too off! (...and I couldn't adjust them because I shot in JPEG...I didn't have CS3 then so RAW wasn't an option)

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.Basically, humans can process varying levels of light instantaneously into one seamless image...shadows, highlights, etc all look relatively proportional. Cameras, however, can only capture one "level" of light at a time. With an HDR shot, the photographer takes two or more photos of an identical scene but a different exposure levels and then they are combined in post processing so that shadows, midrange, and highlights are all exposed perfectly. This gives most surfaces that telltale ethereal shine that is indicative of an HDR image.

@op:FWIW, I doubt anyone here actually thinks you're a hick...hicks don't drive nice cars like ours! lol

ok one..im playing...people who know me here know of my sarcastic way of things...has nothing to do where ur from

two i know what HDR is..i was just saying its a composite (two or more shots combined to create one image)...which it is...HDR can be taken in one shot using high def digital backs....20+megapixel range. problem is...they run about 20 25g ...just for the back...

three....AWB or Auto White Balance....is not the correct way to capture a "presentation" image...ie ..magazine..calender..etc.....inauto white balance ..the cameras sensor take a reading of the overall color structure and "balances" to middle grey...i think its 18% based on the foucus area of the frame...so...that means if ur shooting at something that is lit by the sun...itll hold to that...the shadows will come out..a lill off..(as i said before our friends photo is sopt on all around) so i boudt AWB was used...

most pros will custom white balance a shoot....

and lastly i was acutally complimenting your "hick" friend and you hayseed....but i guess u were just looking to attack what ever negativity you may find even if its fun sarcasim....you remind me of those yoyos who scream and yell about animal rights just to hear them selves....and then goes home and butt rapes their hamster....and congrats on the shoes and electricity...aint it somthin'?
