I had a leaky injector. Replaced o-rings. Bad idea. Replaced all injectors. WORSE IDEA!!! now have all all injectors leaking, and tons of fuel spray in engine bay!!!! All the rubber is new, including the seats in the head. Can the fuel rail be the culprit??? HELP!!!!!

Where did you get the O-rings? That would be my guess of your problem. I tried going to a parts store insted of Nissan and I had the same issue. Hope this helps.

Well, I got the first round from O'Reilly's. The second round was from Nissan. The rebuilt injectors are Borg Warner. I am at a loss here. I am thinking maybe the fuel rail itself isn't seating properly. If that doesn't fix it, well, know anyone wanting to buy a 90 with leaky injectors??? I may replace the whole fuel delivery system before it's actually over.... thanks for any info.

If the O-rings are not sitting in the grooves at the top of the injectors somewhat snug then that would be the cause of your leaks. Check for proper fit, clean out the slots in the fuel rail, firmly seat the injectors in the rail and then seat them carefully back into the block.

PS. I already have a 90 with leaky injectors, that's why I know a little about this! So keep yours and do your best cause it's a great ride when it's purring!!

I JUST HAPPEN TO BE WORKING ON MY 90 RIGHT NOW. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT FITMENT INTO THE FUEL RAIL. SHOULD THEY KINDA POP INTO PLACE WHEN I PUT THEM BACK IN OR SHOULD THEY JUST BE SNUG IN THE RAIL?

Mine never "popped" into the rail so I want to say they need to fit snug into the rail. I am telling you this from my experiences in working on this stuff and not because I am a qualified mechanic! I am just trying to help. Would the Online Mechanic(s) like to throw in their 2 cents now??!!

Anyone?!?!

So I gotta ask this next..... would it be better to get orings that are a tad larger than the stockies???? That seems to be the thing with mine is that they still wiggle in the rail when pushed in slow and "snug". I am at the point this morning that I want to take off the injector system and find some way to make it triple carbed..... ahhhhh the ease of adjusting carbs!!!! Thanks for all the input so far.... I know I'm not alone.

I would go with the ones that are more snug. My experience so far with this is that the looser ones tend to roll down the injector as you push it back into the fuel rail and make the leaking / spurting worse.

See if these guys can help answer your questions also

Wow. Thanks bunches!!! I went to the info you directed me to, and that helped. I wound up going to a couple nissan dealers, buying a couple sets of o-rings and seats and insulators (all the technical terms there....) and fidled til it worked. No leaky, no smelly, no more dying off the line. I also replaced my fuel filter with one from a 300z which, as it turns out, required a tad more air to cope with a tad more fuel. I advanced the timing a wee-bit and off she goes!! I highly recommend the Borg Warner rebuilds, they are great. I just got back from steam cleaning my engine bay, and from buying new air-freshener. Now the only gas smell I have is from trips to Taco Bell!!!!! Thanks again for the help. I spent all last night and all today fixing the silly thing. I am, once more, a 240 lover. (had a rough spot there......)
