Big problems. I was hooking up a power trunk release kit and somehow the trunk got locked. well the key don't work, the cable don't work cause it's locked the trunk release don't work cause it's locked. I don't even think I can call a locksmith because it looks like the lock wouldn't work even if the key was the right key. And get this, I have 2-12inch subs in the trunk. The box is in the way!!!!! I can't get over it to reach the latch!!!!!any ideas would be great!!!!By the way it's a 92 vert.

thanks,Joe

Hmm, can you go through the back seat? Pull the back seat and see if there's a way to access the trunk from there.

Good luck.

You can drill out the lock and that will get it open. I had to do that to my old trunk lock. I ended up getting silvia trunk lock and had a locksmith key it to work on my car.

have you tried to manually locate the cable and pull on it? the lever next to the driver seat will only pull it so far, maybe it needs a little more than what the lever will do. other than that, you might be able to drill the lock out itself without getting into the metal of the car, and replace it after you get it open. or if you're real careful with the paint and try not to bend shyt, cover the car with a towel, and pry it open with a crowbar, your options are limited, and unfortunately, you'll probably have some damage somewhere you just gotta figure out what you want to do. i have a remote functioning trunk release on my vert and i love it, so hang in there.

oh yea, and if you put the selenoid in yourself...make sure you got the one way kind, the kind that only pulls on the lock and doesn't push (like the ones do for door locks) it should pull and release...this could happen if you have the wrong selenoid.
