have you tried to manually locate the cable and pull on it? the lever next to the driver seat will only pull it so far, maybe it needs a little more than what the lever will do. other than that, you might be able to drill the lock out itself without getting into the metal of the car, and replace it after you get it open. or if you're real careful with the paint and try not to bend shyt, cover the car with a towel, and pry it open with a crowbar, your options are limited, and unfortunately, you'll probably have some damage somewhere you just gotta figure out what you want to do. i have a remote functioning trunk release on my vert and i love it, so hang in there.
oh yea, and if you put the selenoid in yourself...make sure you got the one way kind, the kind that only pulls on the lock and doesn't push (like the ones do for door locks) it should pull and release...this could happen if you have the wrong selenoid.
