*This isn't a for sale thread, don't pm any offers. As soon as it is for sale you guys will be the first to know and I'll have a proper F/S thread.

Well guys, I never thought I would be selling my car. Some of you may or may not know me that well, but I bought my car in Jan. of 2008 and have been around here ever since. It's not officially for sale yet, but it probably will be soon. Just gauging interest for the car itself and/or some parts.

I'm just needing something with a little more versatility than a two door coupe that would better fit my lifestyle, which involves a lot of camping, biking, roadtrips...etc.

A little about the car...

-2008 Altima Coupe 3.5SE CVT. Radiant Silver with charcoal cloth interior.
-32,2xx miles
-One owner
-Mechanically perfect
-exterior I would give a 9/10. 2 small dings and one semi-noticeable scratch that I'm aware of.
-Interior 9.5/10
-Pioneer double din Navigation/DVD player
-New front brakes @ 31k miles
-New tires @ 30k miles
-Full synthetic every 5k miles
-DDM HID low beams and fogs
-c-mod grille
-AEM intake

Car has zero issues and runs perfect. The cvt has never had an issue and there are no strange noises, this car has been babied its whole life.

Now ideally I would like to sell the car as-is just to save the time and hassle of parting out the upgraded parts, but if I can't find a buyer for the car as it sits then I might return it to stock form and sell the mods separately.

Here are the mods that could potentially be for sale....

-(Rare) Gunmetal Nismo A34 19"x8.5" Forged aluminum made by Rays Engineering. I bought them new and most people know these wheels and the story behind why they are so hard to get, but before anyone asks, they aren't for sale yet. If I sell them separately I would need to buy a set of original 3.5se wheels because I sold my originals. The condition of the wheels are a 9.8/10.

-Nismo Cat-back exhaust for the 3.5L. Like the wheels, the exhaust is discontinued for the 3.5L if I'm not mistaken.

-Racingline y-pipe

-Racingline Front strut tower bar

-Racingline Rear Sway bar

-Eibach Pro-kit

I think that's all that I could pull off the car. Actually everything but the wheels and springs might be sold separately regardless of whether I return the car to stock or not.

Most people have seen my pics of the car and I'll have many more once I officially put it up for sale, but here are a couple horrible quality phone pics for reference. lol

Also, this pic is an example of how well this car has been taken care of.....this was the process I went through before taking my wheels to have new tires put on..

Thanks guys, feel free to ask questions and discuss.

yeah I know. It's a combination of a short commute, not driving around aimlessly, and having a moped lol

Dude I've always loved your car and your input. I'd definitely be on the lookout for your parts for sale. I'd be able to trade OEM 17's off my car that were recently touched up. Those wheels are pretty darn cool.

Sorry to hear dude. Sad to see another OG go down.

I'll take the bars if you think they're in still good condition.

Appreciate the interest guys, but like I said, not accepting any offers on parts atm. Check the classified section often because that's where I'll advertise the items for sale. I'll also update my sig with the link.

It's all good guys, the altima has been a great car for the past 5.5 years and it has been trouble free. I'm not particularly tired of the car, paid off since jan 2012 and it's still really fun to drive, it's just not as able to fit my needs as it was back when I was 18-20. I'm 23 and married, no kids until I'm 28-30 ish, so it's not like I "NEED" space for kids. Just the activities/hobbies we do aren't lowered coupe friendly lol

We have two small dogs and it's always a pain finding someone to watch them when we go on trips. Would like to take them because most of the time we are either camping or doing something outdoors, but I don't want them to scratch up the leather seats in the 545i and the cloth interior on the altima would never be the same lol

I'm not going the boring route with some crossover suv or a truck. I want something different, understated, reliable, useable, and still fun of course. Most likely replacement at the moment is a 2008+ e91 touring. Not too big, not too small, as versatile as a swiss army knife, can easily be made "dog friendly" and will still handle great when I want to have fun. Also 6-speed manual because duh and rare, also I think a good number of bmw auto trannys are made by GM (meh) including the one for the e9x chassis. The engine however (n52b30) was on a list of top ten engines in 2008 I believe, and is supposed to be as reliable as a hammer.

Anyway, I don't plan on leaving nico. I love being able to post and help people out and I love seeing what you guys are doing to your cars lately. I've owned the car for 5.5 years so I think I'll still be able to help even if I don't have the car anymore lol There is a totally new gen of users on here and lots of info to be shared and I still want to be a part of that.

Definitely stick around man! Your car was always super clean. Had no idea you kept the miles so low.

I have been looking into some life changes myself and an 08 M5 popped up into the mix. I know very little about BMWs though so it's time to start doing my HW.

Have you thought about a late model WRX/STi? Specifically the hatch? All weather friendly, a blast to drive, super dog friendly, very versatile overall. I have never heard anything negative about Subaru reliability.

I daily a Mazdaspeed3 right now, and I cannot say enough how great the hatchback piece of ownership has been. I absolutely LOVE the hatch. Hockey gear, drums, car parts... I have crammed so much into that car (that's what she said.)

Thanks man! I'll def be around.

An e60 M5 is an amazing car that makes an amazing noise. Pretty $$ maintenance wise like all bmws and even more so being an M car. I own two other bmw's right now and I'll say the biggest thing is having good maintenance records and getting one that was well taken care of. They can last forever if you treat them right and not ignore problems....I've always had good luck and reliability with them, hell I'm looking at getting another. Just be sure and do your homework on whatever model you consider. bimmerforums.com is an great forum, lots of great info and diy stuff. (I'm DerekG over there btw)

I love my 2004 e60 and while it isn't the M5 the 4.4L V8 in mine is no slouch with something like 330hp 333tq and 28-31mpg highway.

anyway back to the subject...

I've looked at a few subies and while I love the exterior of the hatch especially, the interior is pretty basic imo and idk if leather is even available, at least in my price range and since this is a DD I want to enjoy being inside the car in everyday use and on roadtrips. Overall it's no doubt equally as capable as the e91, but for me the bmw feels like there is more car there if that makes sense. Also the subie seems a little "boy racer" for my taste, but I'll still probably test drive one to see what it's like.

I do like the look of the mazdaspeed3...a lot. Never driven one, but I hear they are little rockets.

Didn't realize that you could get something with 330+hp and tq and nab 31 mpg highway. That might be a far more viable option than getting hammered on mpgs with the M5.

Yeah - the interior is the main complaint with the WRX, especially as of late. It is very underwhelming for the price, and that's the price subaru is paying for keeping it based on the Impreza instead of splitting off into a separate nameplate. You're correct on the leather as well - not available in the hatch. Only available in the limited trims on the sedan.

You should give the MS3 a shot - it might surprise you. I thoroughly enjoy driving it. Lately, I've been tempted to use mod money on it instead of my 370Z... haha!

Lol sorry, not trying to offend. To be fair I'd rock my parent's 2010 fx35 all day. Did you sell your altima dj? I must have missed that. I see the jeep in your sig.

Just playin', no offense taken.

Traded the AC for the Jeep in January. I'm getting old (and boring) and needed a change.
My $0.02...part the car out. You will get a lot more $$$ back for the mods off the car than on it.

No doubt that's the case and it might end up happening that way depending on how easy/hard the car will be to sell. Initially though, if I can get my asking price for the car as-is I would rather do that just because of the sheer hassle of parting it out. Removing eibachs and re-installing the stock springs, shipping awkward shaped parts like sway bars, exhaust, y-pipe, and finding a set of stock wheels to buy and switch out for the nismos.

Also it is likely the potential buyer of this car will be a car enthusiast to some degree. Once they learn the details of it they will probably like the fact it's lowered, handles well, and sounds good....etc. I'm under no time constraint to sell the car, so if no one bites after it's been for sale a while then I'll just part it and get my "asking price" either way. lol I'm not letting the nismos go for less than they are worth just for a quick sell.

I live in a relatively small town (20k or so people) and lots of people know the car and I get comments about it all the time, so hopefully I won't have too much trouble selling it.

It's getting professionally detailed inside and out tomorrow and I'm buying for sale signs after work as well.......the time is coming. Not sure what to think at this point, I've been through/learned a lot with this car and it has never let me down. I hope it goes to someone that will take care of and maintain the car as well as I have these past 5.5 years. Feels weird as this is the first car I've sold that I've been a little bit attached to.
