I am running a terrible offset with the wheels I just purchased and would like some info on what kinda spacers I would need in order to have them flush. Specs are:

2008 Nissan 350z Base
225/45/18 front with an offset of 35mm and wheel width of 8.5
245/45/18 rear with an offset of 45mm and wheel width of 9.5

I've used the offset calculator, and maybe I'm just an idiot but I don't understand it and would need someone to explain it to me.

Now the offsets listed above is right as far as I can tell. Front offset would always be lower than rear by what I've read.

8.5" wheel you need at least a +15mm offset to set some what flush on the z. the rear with a 9.5" wheel I would also run a +15mm offset. Now you will have to roll the rear fenders or the wheel will hit the inside lip.

So in order to get those offsets with the wheels you have now, you will need a 20mm spacer front and 30mm spacer rear. I was conservative so you can go 5-10mm more aggressive if you are feeling spicy. With flush offsets, you have to have the proper type alignment which means some negative camber and lowered some would be ideal as well.

So I will ask this question then. Would it make more sense to lower the car first before putting the spacers on?

It will give you a better idea of what to expect from adding spacers.

Sounds like a plan. One thing I will mention though, once these tires are finished I plan on putting 40's instead of 45's

That will only effect how tall the tire is. A drop will help with the shorter profile, if not it would be even more of a fender gap.

Another quick question about lowering springs this time. When ordered springs I want to get the front/back weight ratio to as close to OEM as possible for ride quality, right? But still want a stiffness for better handling. What would be a good ratio for this?
