offset????

My uncle owns a shop in detroit and said that he'd give me some rims for my birthday. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good offset. also he said if he doesnt have any that i want then he'd just let me find anything under 1000 with tires and he'd pay for them. I want to get some red rims, preferably 5 or 6 spokes, if anyone has any suggestions as to where i can get some let me know.

tire rack has some kazers's 18x8 fronts and 18x9.5 rears for 195 and 205 respecitvrely, tires will put you over budget by a couple hundred bucks, or for about $8-900 you can get some nice gently used 350Z wheels with tires, and if you like the base model wheels they can be had for a lot less

offset depends on your new wheel width. factory n/a z's run a +45 offset on a 7.5" wheel. tt's run a 35 offset on a 8.5" wheel in the rear.

why do na's and tt's have different offsets? im not an expert on wheels i just want to kno what offset looks good and performs well. i kno i want 17s but im not sure exactly what else to look for after that...

the TT only has a different offset in the rear due to the wheel being an inch wider, remember offset is reletive to wheel width, a +30 on a 6" wide wheel has a completely different backspace from a +30 8" wheel
