offset?

hey can any1 explain to me offset? if i found some rims w/ 40 mm offset.... how can i tell if it'll fit my car a 96 240sx?

Read the "tire questions" sticky at the top of the forum and use the wheel offset calculator link. If after doing this you still are not sure then gimme a hollar and I'll help some more.
