Well, I have a kid in private school too, and I don't spend any money on rims ... still have stock rims after 11+ years and they work perfectly fine. Realistically speaking, there is no tearing need for 20" rims. So, I put my money on excellent tires instead - that way, the improved braking and handling and wet weather performance also benefits my kid because we are safer.
