alright i know this might sound stupid and im kinda pissed to find this out but my 240sx that i had bought had the rims painted with black paint, i looked closely while cleaning them and found out that they are mitsubishi rims so befoer i found out i bought some NEX coilovers which i might add are very very very very very bumpy, i kinda wish i did not get but i am wiiling to deal with them for now, but my main question is i am lowering my car with the new coilovers and the rims start to rub the springs on the set and so i had to raise them back up a friend of mine told me to get some tires (which i am going to get new ones anyways) that have negative offset. Is this ok, is it bad to have negative what tires come in negative, i am looking for either 16" or 17" do any of you know of tires that are negative and are 16 to 17 that are good price??? just let me know what yall think plz and thankyou

Wheels come in offset, not tires. Do you mean stretching tires so that they angle in more at the sidewall? Instead of getting new tires try some spacers first. Usually the wheel scrapes against the coil.

wow... just wow... umm.. i dont even know where to start with this one...
wiki wrote:The offset, measured in millimeters, can be negative or positive, and is the distance from the mounting surface to the rim's true centerline. A positive offset means the wheel is front of the mounting surface, closer to the center of the fender; a negative offset means the wheel is away from the mounting surface and projecting from the fender. Offset affects the scrub radius of the steering and it is advisable to stay within the limits allowed by the vehicle manufacturer. However, if tires are fitted which are significantly wider than those specified by the manufacturer, a compromise may have to be adopted whereby a wheel with less offset is used to prevent the tire rubbing on the suspension.
... man, read up and do some research.oh and btw... you have to know the width of the wheel before considering offsets.
