How much can you go off from the stock offset before it becomes bad for your wheel bearings. I would think having the weight off center on the bearing would cause premature wear, no?

I think I also read somewhere it's not recommended changing it more than 12mm.

that depends on wheel width, among other things...myself, C-kwick and dor-dori actually discussed the centerweight of the wheel(centerline weight, if you will) offset, width camber etc, along with contact aptch and suspension gemoetry a while back...

If you want myself and others to elaborate let me know, but the short answer is that supposing width stays the same of the wheel, you would want to allow a maximum variation on the offset of less then 10mm....(but if its the stock width, why change the offset?)

The reason I'm asking is because it will influence how wide I'll go with my wheels.I'm thinking about the FN-01R-C's and wanted to know what's the closest I can get to stock offset with an 8 inch wheel up front. And a 9 in the back.

I measured(not too long ago) from the mounting surface on the rotor to various distances on the strut housing and got something like 240mm to where the wheel will comeup on the strut(if diameter is maintained) with a +40 offset which seems like that's not right , either I measured wrong or there are other factors involved.

In the rear i got a little over 260mm on stock offset.

So i guess main question is: I guess like 35 offset or so (8fr./9r.) would clear stock susp. wouldn't it? Will 5mm have that much of an impact on bearing wear?
