i have a question about what width and offset my rims should be for the perfect fit on my car. I have no idea how to measure/calculate offset. Im getting a set of Volk GTS wheels for my 95 zenki and was wondering what width and offset i need for the biggest lip possible in the front and rear(i want the top of the rim to be absolutly flush wit the fenders). Keep in mind i have over fenders on in the rear and wider fenders up front. Please dont respond with comments like "your a noob" or anything along those lines. I just need some help a.s.a.p :/

well i guess start with diameter, probably a 17 maybe even an 18 in the rear if you want, that would help with your rim on fender flushness

lip TECHNICALLY depends on the spoke design, you could in theory have a wheel with a +40 offset that mounts so far back on the wheel that it has a "lip" but generlly these wheels dont exist and lip is determined by offset

offset is the the point in which the wheel mounts OFFSET from the center of the wheel, measured in mm (also helps to know the mm inch conversion, 25.4mm in one inch)

so if you have a 17x 9 with a +0 offset you have 4.5 inches inward and 4.5 inches outward, simple stuff, positive offset increase the inward number and decreases the outward number by the same amount (the total will always be the same as the width of the wheel) and visa versa, negatives are reverse of what i just said above

id say go with 18x10 +0 to +15 in the rear and 17x9 +0 to +15 in the front if possible, all you gotta do is get close then small spacers, camber, tire stretch for fine tuning the rim on fender action!

thanks man that actually made sense to me lol, i do want the rims to be the same size im going to do 18" all around. So you say 18x10 from 0-+15 offset for the rear? i was wondering if you think i can pull off 18x10.5 or maybe even 18x11 in the rear?

on this site right here where i can but the rims theres on option that lets me chose width. Is 10J equivalent to 10"?

theres also three columns with option for disc A, B, and C what does that mean

Yes, it does...but your too thick to figure it out.

First off, you didnt give us NEARLY enough info about your setup to make a proper judgement.
How wide are your overfenders/front fenders? What footwork are you using? What tire size/stretch are you thinking of running? Hell, some pictures would help too.

Learn how to properly ask for help before posting please.

ok, im using 50mm over fenders in the rear, idk what tires i want> idkl much about rim specs or anything of that nature its all new to me. All i know is that i want to rim to be completely flush with the fenders. Tires i would want the to be as wide as possible to the point where they dont rub

Like the previous poster said, spoke design will be the killer here.

I would go to rimtuck.com and search for different setups. GTS's are quite common, so you should be able to find a couple of different GTS setups to compare too now that you have the information about offset.
You gotta put in the research if you want to do something right.

lol well yeah ill chime back in here, i use rimtuck alot, they give alot of specs and its a great asset lol

im personally on rimtuck, trying to rep the 16's haha xxr 002 the white hatch lol you'll recognize it, and although im not dummy flush ive looked into it alot as well as talked to alot of flush people

50mm overfenders you could run an 10.5 no problem, 11 is possible too, enough camber and stretch anything is possible haha

but it all depends on if the over fenders were put on correctly, i.e. you cut the stock quarter pannel or rolled it out like crazy so that the wheel can travel freely under the over fender

otehrwise your still limited by stock body haha

hit up rim tuck and check it out, if you see nohting you like then hit is back and maybe provide a picture of exactly what you want and then we can tell you exactly what you need by looking at it probably

alot of wheel gurus on here lol but yeah if your looking for dish you got to find the correct wheel, unfortuantely the wheels are expensive like work and ssr would be perfect however they cost roughly 1500 bucks or more haha

tire choice is almost a last step, you get the wheels fit the fitment and camber you want and then determine the absolute minimal stretch you can run and then if you over shot it roll it a little more and if you undershot it then small spacer or a differnt tire combo

you can do 18x10.5 rear and 18x9 or 18x9.5 front, still though a low offset is your friend
