DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO OCT. 17

I need everyone’s help to get our 2010 NiCO Vert calendar together! First things first, we need pictures for the monthly features!

I want everyone to submit the best pictures of your car in this thread (resized to 800x600).

Let’s lay down some ground rules:

1. This is for members of our forum only. If the car belongs to someone and they aren’t a member here, it won’t be accepted.

2. If your car was featured in last year's calendar, please don't submit again. Be gracious and let someone else share in the spotlight for this year's features.

3. Pictures need to be as large as possible and have the highest resolution possible. The bottom line is we’re not going to print crappy pictures – no matter how awesome the car might be. We prefer quality pictures over heavily modified cars.

4. You must use your own pictures or have permission from the photographer to use their picture of your car.

5. No large watermarks or tags. If you’re using a picture taken by a professional photographer or something along those lines (including copyrighted material), please ask that they use a smaller tag. We don’t mind them taking credit for their excellent pictures, but we also don’t want to provide them with a bunch of free advertising.

6. All submissions must be posted by SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2009 at 11:59.59pm EST. Anything after that will be excluded from the running. Do not submit pictures if you do not have large, high resolution versions of the pictures you are submitting. I do not want the process to be delayed because we have pictures that won’t work. Again, we want this to look good.

7. After a submission has been made, you will have 3 days to send the large, high-res pictures to [email protected]. If they are not received within 72 hours of the time of submission, you will have to resubmit. Make sure you get everything in within the allotted timeframe.

8. Minimum size for pictures sent to me are 8.5"x11" at 200dpi (1700x2200 pixel). If they're smaller than this, the picture is going to look crappy and will not be used. Remember, we want quality photographs.

I think that should cover everything as far as rules. Now here’s what I need with each submission:

1. Three of the most excellent pictures of your vert. Pick three pictures that best convey your car’s purpose and what you’ve done to make your car unique. For example, if you race your vert, get a shot of it in action for the main picture, then maybe a shot from building the car as well as a picture of your engine bay or something like that. If you’re into style and stereo, get a picture of your car hardparking as well as a picture of your sound system and then maybe a picture of your car cruising. If you have no idea what to submit, just submit 5-6 pictures and my editorial team will pick something for you.

2. Provide your personal information: Name, Nico ID, City, State, and Country (for our friends outside North America). Also, if you have a preference for which month you'd like your car to be featured, let me know.

Once the submission period comes to a close, we will take all of October to let everyone vote for the top 12 cars to be used as the monthly features. I'll make a new thread once it's time to start voting with details on how that will work.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding submissions or the calendar in general, please post in here. I don't have regular internet access, but I'll try to answer any questions as soon as I possibly can.

If you want to know how last year's calendar turned out, you can view it here: http://www.cafepress.com/Nico240sxVert.343611639

Thanks to everyone in advance for their help and cooperation!

Nope, I think new owner and a lot of modifications makes your 'vert calender worthy for this year. That's my opinion at least.

I'll try and remember to take my wife's camera to work tomorrow so I can get some good pics of my car to submit....iPhone pics won't cut it...hehe,

Plus I can wash it really good at work (work at a water plant) before snapping them. Should look really cool at the plant at dusk. I'll do my best.

I struggled with this because I had you and that car in mind as soon as I thought about it.

I'm not sure what to do...

I won't say that you can't submit... I'll let you make that call. If you decide that you would like to submit the car for the calendar, I think the rest of the forum can "voice" their opinion on this matter when they vote on what cars to feature.

Sound fair?

Drive to a local park or industrial area with graffiti for an interesting background

Be conscious of the time of day/cloud cover. I like dusk shots.

remember the thirds rule in photography.

Ok, I guess I will do that today. I thought I would get some opinions on the asphalt concept. I will find a better location for it and re-submit my pictures. Dexter can I resubmit better ones?

Sounds good. Color of your car is very unique, so you have a good chance if you take good shots. Good luck!!

Go out to the same spot and park the car, so trees will show in the background.

Let me know which ones you like. I really liked the first one. I thought the first one showed the dark side to my 240 vert. Otherwise saying it has an evil side because of the trees and the shadow.

I would find a background that has a different color, like red. To me there is too much green in the picture. Or maybe find a solid neutral color background so that it makes the picture focus more on the car
