Thank you! We were supposed to have a diffuser under the back end, which is why I cut up the rear bumper. It just didn't come togther in time. Other than that, having the back end up higher lets the air come off the back tires cleaner/easier. We WILL be back next year with more power, better tires and more time in the car. Expecting to be in the 12's next year.

It's a piece of plywood painted black and mounted on a frame that we built for it. I was told not to use a splitter made of anything I couldn't afford to replace! At $11.00ea, I think I have a winner. Good thing, too, because we damaged it a couple times during the week in practice. Easy to repair, and cheap to replace!

We got fourth...out of four. We made the summit, which was the goal for this year, but we would like to have gone faster. Just not enough time in the car before the race. No problem, though. That mountain isn't going anywhere and now we have a year to improve the things we didn't like about the car/setup, and get plenty of seat time before next years race. Also, more of the road will be paved next year, which will definitely help. We did great on the pavement, but really lousy on the dirt.
We did make some history this year, though. We had the first Quadriplegic competitor in the 87 year history of the event (my co-driver, Travis Tollett), and we also won the Donner award for Sportmanship. So, we are very excited about those two things.
We'll be back...better and faster.
