I did last weekend using Dupli Color Caliper Paint Kit, I went with Black this time. I used VHT (Blue, Spray) and have to say I prefer the Dupli/Brush.

I honestly don't like doing this but can't stand the Dirty/Rusted look, I didn't take my time either. It didn't help that the Brush in the Kit was Garbage, I only got two coats.

Mehdi, how long did it take you to take the calipers off? How difficult? Did you get instructions or was it pretty straightforward? Did you have to bleed the lines?

You should have done a write-up!!! That's so much better than doing it on the car.

I'm doing a tutorial for this, as soon as I find the will to finish it. (I only did the front passager side LOL!)

It was pretty intimidating but I disasembled the caliper (removed the brake pads, then I removed the metal thingies attached to it, then the omega torque bolts behind it with my cheapo 15$ electric impact wrenchm lol.) and I painted it. but I didn't want to bleed it so didn't disconnect the cable . I hand to sand all the rust out and then clean it and ahh it was sooo long to prep it for painting. the paint is the longest part because it takes HOURs to dry. I had to let it for a whole day without driving, because that lamo paint just begs to have finger prints in it.

seriously, if one has a WHOLE day to do nothing, and is pretty efficient, he could finish the front and the rear, but I doubt it.

Wow. Sounds like the G2 kit is the way to go. I was able to get three coats on within 2 hours or so (it was still pretty cool out, it would dry faster in hotter temps). And it left a nice finish. I thought about taking everything apart but figured it would take too long. I'd be interested in seeing the tutorial though.

you had your fun, now shooo! Go troll somewhere else you even if it does look like crap ha! lol

you can't do the calipers RIGHT without taking them off. there will be lost of place you can't reach and it going to show as soon as someone looks closely.

Looking at someone's brakes that close is the equivalent of counting the fillings in someone mouth. My local rimshop did a quicky black job on my calipers (not my desire) but they do this on all rim installs - the caliper was not removed - and it isn't really noticeable - again if you are looking that close to notice then ..........

I think - very few people will look that close - and the few gearheads that do - will surely ask - what kind of calipers are those?

I used an Impact wrench for the torque bolts (The two big ones in the back of the caliper)

They take about the same force to remove as the wheel nuts

I couldn't do it. I could only get the top one off the one in the bottom was impossible. I was looking at some wrenches right now and they are really expensive, where did you get yours for $15?

Did mine with Dupli / Brush Method and it only took about 4 hours to do all four corners and that's with taking it off, cleaning them painting them and re-installing. It's easier when you have the right tools definitely!

I managed to take the front one off but then I spilled the brake fluid everywhere so I decide to put it back. How do I do it so it doesn't spill?
