Yeah well my father in law did, so he gave me halo 3 since I had never played it, we only play multiplayer anyway now. So I shouldn't complain about so spending money on a game that was given to me anyways...eds13 wrote:shoulda just bought odst haha
I like the multi-player but I didn't care for the campaign at all, I never even finished it. Gears of War 1 and 2 had much better story modes IMHO. I have to say it's the first FPS multi-player game i've enjoyed at all though since Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo64. I don't usually care for online multi-player games like that anyways but a lot of the family plays it so it's something we can all do together besides board games or crap like that.ScorchedNX2K wrote:Halo is a festering sore on the a** of the gaming industry. Yes Halo is a decent game( I was my dorm's champion in Halo1)...but it spawned a niche of redundant, money-milking, soul-less, dumbed-down, asinine games. People call it the most defining FPS of this generation...I call it a kidney shot with steel knuckles.
SOrry...kinda drunk.
Halo is by far the strongest in terms of story of the core trilogy and had there been online multiplayer (Xbox live, I'm not considering XBConnect) it would be the strongest overall of all three. Halo 2 is by far the weakest and certainly felt like an EA money-milking job (ala' Madden, Tiger Woods or Need For Speed) but I think I had the most fun with ODST. Planning the location of an ambush and timing it properly made a HUGE difference in the outcome, unlike the other Halo's where you could run and gun your way out of most situations.snwbrdr435 wrote:The original halo was awesome, Halo 2 sucked and Halo 3 was done for me after a month. I hope they could make reach more like the first halo

Yeah, I heard that MSFT was going to discontinue the console and focus on their burgeoning presence in the mobile phone market.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Xbox fails.
No trolling intended. Just pointing out that fans of the original Halo could indeed find online games without xbconnect.BusyBadger wrote:You're far too skinny to be a troll, more like a kobold. Actually, I'll show my geek colours and say you're more githyanki.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Xbox fails.
Control scheme changed because every other game in the world is using the most modern layout (Which still sucks...WHY CAN'T WE MAP OUR OWN BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I don't mind the change.krimsonviper wrote:I didn't get to play the campaign, but I played multiplayer. After the first match I put the remote down. DMR? Do. Not. Like. I didn't get used to the targeting system and they changed the button layout. Why would you change the button layout after the THIRD game of the same thing?! Anyway, when I buy the system again, I'll give the game a second chance by borrowing it from a friend.
There is a controller setting that allows the mapping to be similar to Halo 3.krimsonviper wrote:I didn't get to play the campaign, but I played multiplayer. I want to be able to change what I normally don't use, and what I need do need move those to a more comfortable position to out BR someone.marlin29311 wrote:Control scheme changed because every other game in the world is using the most modern layout (Which still sucks...WHY CAN'T WE MAP OUR OWN BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
