Activision is without a doubt testing the masses. What is $15 now could easily become $20, $25 in the future. Coupled with the rumor of a monthly subscription model, this is disturbing.

For $15, I would have also expected some new Spec Op levels, or at least unlocking some new games modes. While playing COD4 maps will be fun, how about making those free?

And I just love how Battlefield BC2 is releasing new maps on the same day, for FREE...

And this, perhaps even more than the fact that charging ANY money for new maps (look at what Valve does for FREE with TF2!!!!!) is unacceptable, is the REAL problem. This is going to fracture the online community. There will be the idiot players who actually pay for this, and then there will be the rest of the community who says "no." That's exactly what you DO NOT WANT in your multiplayer-dependent game. Free content extends the life of your game, which makes more money in the long run due to continued sales. Paid content merely makes you a little more money now while potentially harming the game's future.

1200 MS points is crazy. I wont be buying it.

If it included Crossfire, Pipeline, and Vacant I would think about buying it though. Those were my favorite maps. :P

1200 MS would only be acceptable if on top of the MP maps we got more Spec Ops missions, more weapons, or at the very least a couple new MP modes.

From what I remember hearing, IW is set for at least 2 DLC packages and maybe 3. So after paying $60 for MW2, you might end up spending $45 in extra crap.

I don't like where this is going.

I am with you guys regarding the price, it's not that I can't afford it. I just refuse to pay 1200 points. The only game I ever downloaded extra maps was for Halo, but Bungie always gave out some for free. Activision is really getting on my nerves.

I really thought DLCs would prolong our video games, you know instead of coming out with a sequel just give us more DLC. The problem now is we get a shorter game, plus a sequel. (ex. Left for Dead)

...I should be on MW2 tonight

You can't really equate L4D with MW2, though.

For one thing, L4D DLC is free. And L4D is still being supported alongside L4D2.

It could be worse, the developer could charge you for DLC's/Patches and then drop any and all support 6 months after the games release (ala OFP:DR) FFFFFFUUUUUUUU Codemasters.

As a nice counterpart to that horribleness, there's Blizzard (again, the irony of them being attached to Activision at the hip is worldshattering) who patched Diablo II after ELEVEN YEARS and WCIII after EIGHT years.

OMG as long as EA keeps their head out of there a** and creates a quality game, this could be the THE Modern Warfare series killer...

The new Medal of Honor game and looks freakin' awesome.

I think you may be right, Chaotic. That game looks amazing. Hopefully it has some substance to it, besides just looking pretty. As for the death of the Modern Warfare series, I think it isn't just possible; it is inevitable. IW is out of the picture, and Sledgehammer Games is doing MW3. They possibly may be going the action/adventure route, maybe even third-person. BC2 is already giving MW2 some serious competition. With Treyarch's CoD release, Halo:Reach, and this Medal of Honor game all coming this year, we are going to see a lot of shelved MW2's. Add in these ridiculous $15 DLC, and it's only a matter of time.

The problem is that EA has forgotten about their customers so they just release crap to release crap and make money. They have even turned off their biggest money makers, the Madden and NCAA crowd by distorting the game to an almost unplayable level,, by adding Playmakers, and all that stupid crap. Lets look at what they've released lately that has had stupid amount of potential but they rushed it and turned it into an awful game...

NFS - they had a winning formula and broke it with Pro-Street, hell even Carbon was retarded, tons of potential, but they ruined it with the physics and all the glitches.

Far Cry 2 - Awesome concept, released before it was thoroughly play tested and as such there were tons of glitches and a stupid AI to contend with, plus the the aiming systems was very broken.

Mercenaries 2 - They had a solid game... and broke it.

While I haven't played NFS Shift, Saboteur, or anything else they've released in the past 6 months I can honestly say that they seem to take pride in rushing games just to get them out in time for Christmas. This is being developed by the same guys who developed BC, so it should be OK but we will see.

As far as Activision is concerned, They are just another EA, and sadly they are moving in the same direction with rushing unfinished products on to the shelf to rake in the money.

Oh also announced was a sequel to Kane and Lynch, cool concept, crap game, the best part of the first one was the Prison level.

I have no issues with NCAA or Madden except the optional "additions" and the game feel. You can pay real money to get boosters and other things that help you when you play Dynasty mode. I think it is real corny that they give people the option to pay for an amazing "recruiter" so you can see who is the best. Madden has slowed down in the most current one, mean while NCAA retained it's old "high" speed feel. If they got both on the same foot then it would be perfect.

As for Medal of Honor, it looks awesome! But I will be playing MW2 as long as my friends are. I will play MW3 if the story is still good, my buddies buy and play it then so will I. If Sledgehammer shows up and messes with things, I will buy it just to finish the story. If they end up making it longer then that's cool, I won't buy the next one any way.

I will hate EA for eternity for what they did to C&C4. There can be no redemption.

When I'm rich beyond measure, I'm going to buy EA and fire EVERYONE. Then I'm going to close down the company and go home.

I think they are making fun of the dialogue between Sgt. Foley and your character, who at the start of the game is Pvt. Ramirez.

I get that, but why the extreme examples? I just remember things like "shoot at the targets while aiming down sight", nothing to crazy about that

EDIT:You guys might find this to be cool.

Real life "Pit" built for a real life British SAS with all the same targets as in MW2. The soldier is up against a person playing the same map on Xbox...

Pretty neat to see the stage built in real life....

I bought it.. Probably not worth the price but I still got it. Eh. Bailout is surprisingly good, and I really like it so far. Salvage is alright, haven't played a whole lot on it, and Storm is huuuge with so much effing cover. Gonna take awhile to get used to.

I usually hate Crash but I just had a hell of a good game there. Domination, we spawned at A. Me and my friend stayed in the second floor above A and picked people off running in the middle and the alleyway and got a few very lucky air drops from it. I got a Pavelow, then my friend got two more shortly after. It was chaos! At first we were losing by at least 50 points and then we steadily caught up cause half the Opp was worried about rushing me and my friend and our team managed to dominate the other points. It was cash.

I'm curious to see if the mass exodus from Infinity Ward has any effect on the quality of these maps.
