Sup everyone,

Came back from D1 not to long ago and had a blast!!! From the time I got there it was super. Was in the inner circle the whole time surrounded by the action. Kazama became the winner of Round 1 for the D1 GP. He broke into tears when he was announced the winner, after about 4-5 runs againts Taniguchi. You had to be there to feel the raw of it, but I took some pics and video clips to share with all of you. http://www.imagestation.com/al...age=YIf the link doesnt work, try to copy and paste it. Sorry for some bad shots, my camera was VERY low on battery and wasnt working correctly. Hope you guys like the coverage, and hope there isnt any duplicates in there.

There is my little album of D1 GP...also have a album of D1 Media day if you havent checked it out yet.

I wonder if Altezza style lights will be "cool" all of a sudden as most of the S15's there were sporting them. *bleh* Everything else rocked and how about that Viper?!? And American or not Sam (forgot last name) in the Jasper performance Supra got some skills!!!

I got a horrible sunburn, from yesterday and today! The Apex RX7 and the DRFT Rx7(from yesterday) are toooo loud! The Altezza's on the S15 I guess are the new style over in japan, Doesnt look to bad...and its still a S15.

As far as video cameras I heard they were not allowed except for people in the media w/ media passes. But I did see a few people with normal video cameras and no visable media bracelet or necklace to show they were allowed to have them.

I was able to bring mine in since I was in a vendor booth but I never took it out not sure if they would trip over that or not.

The Jasper Supra was great. And Kazama's full court drift was mind boggling too. My favorite was when the S15's went against another S15. When the cars were evenly matched and the cars got crazy close, it made it so much more exciting.

Why not, I think the GTO was a great add on. He could have done a bit better, and he did much better in the supra but yea.

Anyone see my car in the Shogun performance booth? I didn't know I was gonna display until 6pm the night before. It's not exactly show quality but I guess it got the point across. Street driven daily drive style. non pristine. It was next to the RHD MR2. That dude had me pop my hood to see my engine bay caked w/ dirt!

not all people were booing rhys because of his car. some were booing him because of how he qualified. i guess sponsoring yourself at a driversearch when your family owns a multi million dollar team or some shytee means your on the same level as the guy that works at the 711 and cant make one off parts. it doesnt seem fair the route he used to qualify and alot of people resent that. no its not his fault he has those options he just didnt have to take advantage at a "amateur" event. for god sakes the car he drove in the driver search was the supra he won pikes peak with..........and that qualifies him as amateur

the gto was nice...it was sluggish though....even slower in transition than the chaser and they are relatively the same size...give or take. it has the potential to be a good car but its quickness will never be on par with the smaller silvias fd's and 86's.

the event itself was outstanding i enjoyed it greatly. i was about 3 feet away from the wreck by the judges stand. poor camara guy..kazama drove his @$$ off and deserved that win.

d1 was awesome, I met up with some of the people from here and 240forums, and had a blast. Was my 1st time at D1. But Id have to say, being plenty fimilar with how hard it is to drift a 3600lb car like the GTO I would say he did great! The judges keep these things in mind as well. And Id have to also disagree about the Silver supras performance, Not the driver, but the vehical is not made for twin drift, and he was dangerous. =) but still a blast. Im hoping to get The whole film from Anahd- ( hope I spelled it correct =) He filimed most of the event and Im hoping to meet up with him and I'll put the whole event up. But until then - cant wait to see the shorts that everyone has.!
