Myother, sorry to hear you can't ride right now, I didn't gather that from your first post at all. Since we usually ride in groups, we just moved my grandpa from the front of the group to the back as his reflexes slowed, and then from the back to the middle as he actually needed watched over (he hated being in the middle). I've seen bikes with handicap plates, and I'm guessing you know the value of a giant windshield, where a sticker could be placed. That having been said, nothing wrong with a trike, either. Unfortunately, I'm not sure any of them are anything less than mucho bucks, but hey, get a Ford next time and maybe you can afford the HD Trike in place of the Infiniti. Maybe? Regardless, in terms of your health/pain, I hope what can get better does, and what can't is well managed.

Dustin,

Thanks. Feeling better. Looking to downsize to a smaller HD that weighs less. Maybe a Fat Boy or a Springer. The newer engines with the EFI make my FLT seem real old. It is a shovel head, but manual choke and stock carb don't compare to the new ones.

While a softtail certainly makes sense for your situation, I don't know that a Springer does. The front fork springs are pretty heavy, and based on their position, I'm guessing they raise the center of gravity. I'm speaking from my grandpa's experience. He didn't switch to a Springer because his previous bike was too heavy, but he had to switch from the Springer because it was too heavy. So, if you were asking, I'd recommend going with the Fat Boy since you like those two.

Dustin,

Thanks for the info. Now all I need to do is find a nice, clean, used Fat Boy for a reasonable price. I'll try ebay first. Still would really like an HD Trike, not a kit add on. Mucho bucks for those but I am still going to look for one.
