Do you believe it will be status quo for car makers? Aftermarket companies such as Stillen and others? Tighter smog restrictions? What's your opinions for the future of our cars and the way we personalize them?

As a Canadian, I'm just so disappointed that my American brothers would vote this guy in. How do you go from Obama to this guy?

Thanks Mazz. Agreed. Obamacare is a total failure. So many things he's done were a total failure. I think the people were tired of democrats and ready for a change. Give Trump a chance. But markets weren't fairing to well with his looming win. And now that he has won. I'm curious were it will be this morning.

No offense...but as a Canadian I don't think you can know. You don't live here so you don't really know what it's like. You don't deal with crap like Obamacare and the race tensions. I'm Ukrainian born so I also kind of follow their politics a bit and just like you, because I don't live in that country, I don't 100% know how those people feel or what they are going through.

Obama added as much to our national debt as almost ALL OTHER PRESIDENTS COMBINED. Under Obama we've had record numbers of people on welfare or food stamps. Obama is a joke and broke this country. Badly. Hillary, even if she was a golden child with no skeletons in her closet, just policy wise, was Obama 2.0. NO THANKS.

Status quo was shattered yesterday (hopefully). So let's see what happens. People talked about Reagan the same way they do about Trump and look what happened. Not saying Trump is Reagan...but to quote the New York State lottery slogan, "Hey, you never know!"

We know what Hillary is (Obama 2.0). We don't necessarily know what Trump is but his plan, at least on paper, rivals FDR's 'New Deal' rebuild in my opinion in some aspects. Like FDR's plan...it calls for putting people to work in literally rebuilding America (steel factories, infrastructure, etc.). Then he plans to lower their taxes. Hopefully he cuts some government waste from the budget (such as things like the Obama Phone program...WTH does that even exist? Another Obama gem). Generally, put money in peoples pockets and give them jobs so they can do what Americans do best: spend money. The rest will snowball into hopefully better things.

Give the guy a chance and get over the 'mean' words he said (BTW, I've been hearing much meaner and vulgar things from Clinton supporters than anything hew as accused of saying or said...so, not even sure why people are stuck on that). Actual crimes against humanity and the nation > mean words. Clinton is the devil. And Obama 2.0.

EDIT: Now there's reports of young Obama/Hillary stooges rioting and burning American flags. Really? Unbelievable.

I know this thread was started with the viewpoint of auto makers but it's going to quickly go off the rails so I'm changing the thread title. I'm okay with leaving it up but if its get crazy I will lock it so lets try to be civil and attack candidates and policies but NOT each other.

Ilya. Thanks for keeping it up. We all can agree to disagree respectfully. I sincerely believe and have protected the 1st amendment. And I hate how California politicians constantly attack the 2nd. Being that Hillary was anti 2nd. I voted for Trump. Do I like Trump. No. but I felt. He wasn't as corrupt as some other career politicians. And his family are avid hunters. So I voted for the lesser of 2 evils. Sounds awful. But very true in my eyes. And believe me. The 2nd most definitely protects the 1st. I also like that he does want the Detroit big 3 to make cars here in the states. Not in Canada or Mexico. That he would impose a tariff if they did outsource. In other words. He wants big business to continue to keep it here in house. That people take pride in knowing. Hey. My HFC's were built by Americans with the intelligence to have done it here with good old fashioned American steel. That's my point for bringing up a political discussion as it does pertain to automakers and parts builders.

Just because Trump will be President doesn't mean he can impose tariffs on auto makers. It takes an act of Congress. He certainly can try to persuade them, but Republicans are still Republicans and they don't necessarily agree with his sentiment on the issue.

As for the 2nd Amendment - yep, I'm a one-issue voter. No 2nd means the rest are merely suggestions. On the plus side, over the last 2 months I tripled my ammo collection, and added 3 new ARs to the arsenal. I just have to get finger printed and I'll be adding my first two suppressors, too (also which are made in America!) :)
