Hi - what and how do I need to check for this problem if I am buying a used M35? Thanks!

I'm on my second M and have not had this issue, though others clearly have. Apparently, the seat tilts inward against the center console so it should be obvious when you sit in the seat. Far as I know, there is no 'warning' that this issue is coming - it just happens - much like Irish relaltives who show un-announced at your door and never leave, LOL.

Lol Larz, or any other nationality. I believe it starts by the gears giving out. You can feel it by driving then braking hard. If you feel the chain move its on the way out.

Clearly he means seat. If you feel a chain move, you might have bigger problems, like a serial killer in the back seat. That is, assuming you aren't DareDevil and don't feel the actual movement of the timing chain. That having been said, my seat leaned into the console, but never moved, unless I just never had to brake hard enough to feel it before I got it fixed.

Roflmao. Year what he said. Make sure there isn't someone in your back seat holding a chain. Got a blackberry z30, for the most part it's cool but sometimes it sneaks a word into a sentence. I think it's purposeful to bring a little fun into texting.
