As far as the instrument cluster, yes, those fit perfect and will not burn out. They are designed to work specifically with 12v car systems. They will work in any large type wedge base I know for a fact.laidbackblk45 wrote:Won't those LED lights burn out when connected to a 12V? So the ones in the gauge cluster use the #194 size lights and there are (3) of those? How many of the little ones that go in the doors, shift lever, and climate controls do I need. I dont have a problem with buying more than I need b/c I know they will go out too but I just need to know how many. I looked for a thread of someone explaining how to go in the dash but I havent found any. Again, my Q is not a Nissan like I had to do before so I want the dash to look like it did b4 I open her up.
As far as illuminating the cluster itself there are only 3. If you want to change your warning lights or turn signal lights also (no reason to anyway) then yes there are a lot more.AlabamaDan wrote:There's alot more than 3 bulbs in the gauge cluster. I pulled some at the boneyard and was surprised at how many there are.
I noticed on a previous thread that you had gotten some LED lights. What sizes did you have to get and where did you get them. I don't want to have to solder anything. I was thinking a/b just buying OEM from IoS and just removing the rubber piece and just painting them to get the blue color that I want. I have already replaced the door courtesy lights, under dash courtesy lights, and dome light. I just want the blue color on my door light switches, shift lever light switches, and the instrument panel. In a nutshell I want the same color that our HVAC and radio controls are standard all over the car.lasoyafan wrote:

You've done some searching and have probably come across this pic showing an option for replacement bulbs. The stealership doesn't sell all the bulbs and in some cases you have to buy the whole component, i.e. cruise control switch to get it's bulb.laidbackblk45 wrote:I just want the blue color on my door light switches, shift lever light switches, and the instrument panel. Great stuff. How many odometer bulbs did you have to buy? How did you get into the dash and console area. I know how to get to the door lights but if you know of how to properly get into the dash/console/radio area I have a bunch of lights that are out in my HVAC area.goody94q45 wrote:I've only purchased the trip odometer lights ($6/ea) from the stealership and found the packaged lamps from Radio Shack after I couldn't get a bulb for the cruise control switch from Infiniti. The Radio Shack bulbs (2 for $1.29) work for all the applications I mentioned in the previous post but you've got to wrap the legs around the receptacle and cut them to length (easy).
As far as tint, the door mounted window control bulb would be the easiest to experiment with. One or two coats of nail polish should work great. I use a home made plastic screwdriver (see pic) to remove and install the bulbs. You won't burn a fuse if you forget to turn your lights off while adjusting a bulb to the proper fit.
