OEM vs ARP vs AEBS etc head/main studs

It seems most here are completely against OEM rebuilds and/or parts in certain areas and i'm just curious as to why. I know several sr owners with mildly boosted motors (mild meaning 200-350hp) who prefer oem over aftermarket in need specific areas. Anyway i'm curious about other sr owners experiences with oem head/main studs specifically after or before rebuilds compared to arp, aebs, greddy etc and if aftermarket really made a difference

until it just can't handle the job, OEM is about as good as you can get. the amount of R&D they put into it is sick. that being said, the OEM head studs(just an example) were not intended for use with 400+HP.

another reason why a lot of people like nismo, it's OEM that IS designed for high performance.

I agree with both your points. At the same time how many actually KNOW what the stock capabilties are of oem without first hand experience. Also how many actually hit 400+hp before something else gives 1st on stock parts. And some are just happy with mild hp. I personally am using gtir oem bolts for my rebuild over aftermarket. It just seems that many are uneccesarily buying aftermarket parts for power goals they will NEVER reach. Ive also seen more have issues with arp specifically than oem (before and after install).

I am using OEM main bolts, but I used ACL main and rod bearings because they are better quality and actually cheaper than OEM bearings from FRsport...
