Whats up guys, Im new to the forum and am looking to get back into the game by customizing a 2007 M35 I just bought. Im going for a stock look while still trying to keep a VIP vibe. I plan to lower the car on coilovers, but am having a hard time deciding which ones. I am leaning toward the BC's, but am also considering the K-sport's as I live in the Phoenix area and can get a pretty good deal on them. Im open to suggestions or comments, but am not going to spend much more then a grand on coilovers. In saying that, I also want to space out the wheels so they sit more flush when I drop the car. I plan to lower the car around this much Image
but might go slightly lower. Im thinking I would need a +25 spacer in the front and a +20 in the rear to have the rims sit flush with the fender, but once again, if anyone has a better suggestion, let me know. After thats done, will I need to do any modifications to the fender liner so nothing rubs? Will I also need to roll the front fenders? This is going to be my daily driver so If anyone has any suggestions or helpful information for me before I start this build it would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures of my car. Image

If anyone has any pictures of something similarly to what Im describing then please feel free to share them.

very nice! you'll need 15mm spacers front and rear to bring the wheels flush 25's will push it out a bit. How low were you planning on going?

I want to lower it a little more then the first picture shown above. Almost to the point where the fenders are tucking the tires, but still sits right above the rim.

I dropped mine initially so that 1 finger was between the fender and tire and a 15mm spacer was sufficient. You might want to consider getting the adjustable upper control arms because the front's camber is much greater than the rear and I felt the steering pull either way on the grooved roads. Are the roads there good? I eventually gave up with that height and went back to factory height using coilovers then dropped it slightly so there's around 3 fingers gap. All due to the bad roads.

The roads around me are fairly good, but a lot of them are being repaired so they will only get better. I plan to run something that will give me more control over the camber adjustment, but am not sure what route I want to go with yet. In saying that I did find a picture of a m35 that has the ride height I will be trying to go for. Here it is

Does anyone think I will need to do any mods to the fender lining or roll the front fenders themselves if I go this low?

no.... no I don't think I will. Ive had bags on a couple cars and I prefer coilovers. Too much maintenance goes into having bags, and Im not looking to have another one blow out on me. Most importantly, im not willing to spend 3-4k

The pic you posted on top has the wheel lip almost even with the fender lip, unless your planning to drive 5 to 10 mph all the time I don't see it happening with coilovers. Even less if it's a M45

Damn... this picture makes me want to throw my oem 19s back on and lower it more... lol

This is probably max dump height on air. I don't think you'll achieve this ride height. I have a OEM body kit on mine and the kit sits higher than the frame. You'll definitely need to remove fender liners. Fenders don't really have a lip so they dont need to get rolled

A member here is working on air suspension for his M now, it may be done in a few days. He has aftermarket wheels that look like the oem 19" sport wheels but with deep chrome lips.

The stance looks the same as the pic above but he tucks a lot more of the rear wheel, which is not drivable.

I'm sure he'll post pics soon :yesnod

After a lot of thought I just decided to go ahead and wing it since it doesn't seem like anyone else has done this yet. I put the coilovers on about 2 weeks ago and this was my result. I like the results, but think it will look 10x better with the wheels spaced out so the next step is to get all my camber adjustments set and space out the wheels.

Let me know what you guys think.

Nice! What about some new wheels instead of spacers? At that height you would have to measure the front of the top rear tire to the fender to determine max spacer size. I would guess 10mm unless you roll the fenders. Front may be more like 20mm again measure the space left.

I plan on getting wheels, but the car is still new to me so Im keeping these wheels until I get tired of them. Im probably going to roll the fenders so I will let you guy know what I decide going with, spacer wise

What suspension did you go with? Did you have to remove the finder liners?
