I'm wanting to get a replacement for my key, and I want to get an OEM style one that actually says "Nissan" on it. Where can I come up with one for my '90 FB? I'd prefer to buy one uncut, then take it somewhere to have it cut. The dealer says that the style of key has been "updated" and they don't have pictures of it to show me what the new key would look like.

likely the key will be the black plastic oval an have the same metal shank as the old style. You can get these from nissan.

I went to NISSAN to get some keys but they're just oval and don't have NISSAN on them. I got 'em anyway.

the ones I ordered from Nissan do have the logo and say nissan, but hey couldn't cut them for me I had to go find s good key shop to grind them out the key blanks were $12.65. that was quite a while ago however, maybe nissan doen't carry them anymore.

20 bucks? And it didn't even say Nissan? Wow. The Nissan dealership over here has the real Nissan ones for 7 bucks. And it's only 11 bucks to buy the key and have it cut. The key cost as much as my oil filter...

here's the part number for the round key with nissan logo. KEY00-00118. Lists for 7.52 and retails for a little over 9. Just picked one up today and had it ground at the dealer. Most locksmiths won't touch an OE key due to the harder materials they're made of.

Some dealers may not have the wheel style key copiers in their parts dept. They only have the stamp cutters which you copy by entering the key code and squeezing the levers together with the key blank in, then repeat on the other side. This also will not work on the OEM hardened keys, which is why somepeople may have had to take it to a key shop.
