Hey whatsup, Looking for advice from somone that knows. I'd like to get rid of this bose crap but im in need of parts...so I found somone on craigslist parting out a z32 with a non bose system. I want to make him an offer for all 4 speaker brackets to convert mine. How much should i offer him on the low number? basically I want all the parts off that car to make mine 6.5 all around using factory parts. What will i need just the brackets or what? I tried reading up on it but couldn't find specific answers regarding a stereo swap which is what Id like to do swap it out from another car instead of making my own or ordering after market both i could do but why when i can get the real thing to swap?

I am changing the head unit btw, I have a pioneer avh-p3300bt already from my old car and im going to try to get a duble din dash bezel from z thirty two to make it fit.
I think it will look more factory and better than getting an oem bezel and hacking it up I could do this but why again when i can get somthing that will be just like the real thing.

I'd offer 40 bucks. Hopefully he doesn't know how much they're worth.

And when you swap the head unit, are you gonna use the stock wiring or,run new wire to the speakers? If you're using the stock wiring, you'll have to figure out which wires of the connector are for signal and which are power on each speaker housing.

I think we have a diagram on here for the wiring. I'd look it up, but I'm posting from my phone right now. It's in tech, called radio wiring or head unit wiring diagram. Something like that. Whatever color it specifies on there will correlate to the colors on the speaker connector. Just splice in and run the wires to the new speaker.

Or just run all new wiring from the head unit to the speaker.

as always thank you Ill probably run new wires from my recievers pre amp out puts to a small amp to drive the 4 speakers and run wires from the amp back to the doors etc.. instead of hacking up the old ones. I just will disconnect them and tiewrap the old ones back inside somewhere out of the way. get a wiring harness and just not wire them back up to the new head unit. I have another amp already mtx thunder somthing im going to drive a mono 10 inch sub as well. Thats probably best way so none of the wires in the car get cut. So ace though 40 dollars sounds good but its just metal brackets for the back and the front or is there more to it? Are the speaker housings in the rear the same interanlly, just on has that big bose thing inside and the other doesnt just a bracket?

Not sure about yours, but my Z came with Bose and my rear speaker boxes are 6.5" already. The front ones I'm not sure of because the PO made them all ghetto with wood and what not but the back ones were intact. What was the point of the piece under the headunit anyway, the metal grill that says Bose on it?

Its a center Channel speaker that fed off the front l and r so not a real center channel. Just a gimmick. The rear bose thats unmodified has a huge canister with a speaker and a built in amp inserted into the box. I want to take those out and put a normal speaker in there instead. The whole BOSE system imo is a over engineered POS.

I was thinking about just leaving it alone and living with it, but my tapedeck doesnt work so I cant use my tape adapter thing to plug into my phone for pandora so im changing it.

mine had a bose system with optional sony cd player placed where the center speaker would be. i went afermarket head unit and bypassed the bose amps on the stocker bose speakers. its really decent quality (if not blown) compared to some infinity and clarion 6.5s i tried from friends. the enclosure makes a huge difference.

Yeah, you take out the old housings and mount in the bracket plates. Doors and rears, I believe. I replaced the center speaker with a single din chubby hole thing. Best mod ever. Sunglasses and phone fit in there perfectly. Your wiring plan sounds spot-on. Be sure to take pics. We could make a how-to and get you some schwag if we don't already have a write up.
