you can swap your speakers if you want. Dependin on if you have the bose, you can also swap the amp.. its doable on my other car this one isnt too different so should be ok.

i am not sure if my stock system is a bose or not..my g35 is the g35 journey without the sound system upgrade..no NAV...my goal is to swap all the speakers to focal component and upgrade to a better amplifier if possible.

Look into a JL Audio CleanSweep interface. The factory system has built-in EQ settings which lower the bass as you turn up the volume which can cause havoc trying to get good sound. If that does not worry you, then you can look at getting a PAC AOEM-NIS1 adapter which will plug into the factory harness and give you two pairs of RCA outputs.

You definitely can upgrade. You have a few options. You can just upgrade the speakers the way you mentioned. You could add an amp or amps to it, that'll get you more power and better sound. You could also add signal processors that take the signals from the factory unit, as they are usually not quality for aftermarket systems, and remove the factory EQ settings so the amps get a good, flat signal, and then you can do sound shaping with your amps for quality sound. There is the mentioned JL one, but I feel the Alpine one (PXE-H650) would be much better, although for $100 more. You have more options, more customization opportunity (a remote allows you to control volume, fade, balance, the subs, etc) and more outputs to allow you to have a bi-amp system for the front components, if you so choose, but if you buy components with an outboard processor, you can skip that option. Both units allow you hook up an auxiliary source, too. Both of these units are at Crutchfield, and I recommend going there just to do research on anything else you plan on buying.

You don't have the Bose, it would say Bose on the unit somewhere, which is a good thing because Bose sucks in the car audio department. Yes, I said it and I've said it before haha.

You're not kidding. I love every apsect of my car except for the "Studio on Wheels". Of the 10 speakers in my car, three are supposed to be 10" subwoofers (two in the front doors and one under the hat rack) but I honestly think Infiniti for got to install them. I have absolutely no bass whatsoever. My Altima, that I just got rid of, had only one sub and generated enough bass to make the review mirror to vibrate. I'm going to have to do something to get some deep end sound.
