no. sorry, but the difference in bores would make this impossible stock, and totally not worth it with machine work. the ca18de ones work, but are 9.5:1 and will require precise tuning. you could ask around, as im sure someone has a set you can buy.

USDM ca18de are 10:1

1989 pulsars might have lower comp, but 88's are 10:1 stock

I dunno how differant ca18et are though? Somebody who knows S12's will have to take over from here.

The S12 is an 8V head and won't have the appropriate valve reliefs.

CA18DE pistons are much higher compression and would require some very careful tuning to make work.

SR20 pistons are an 86mm diameter. I'm not even sure that you could bore the CA out that far and still have any cylinder walls left.

VG30 pistons are an upgrade for the SR. I've got a friend running VG30 pistons in his S14 SR.

So... the short answer seems to be no unless I want too high comp ratio. The reason I ask is there is a swap on ebay the guy is selling with low compression. I know the head gaskets sometimes let go but all the numbers he gave me are pretty low and uneven so I doubt the gasket blew on all 4 cylinders. I just wanted to see what was available if I do buy it and it needs a little more than just rings. Any thoughts or input on this engine and what it might be or if I should just stay away all together. I did ask, and there are no holes in anything or signs of massive failure.

dude dont even worry about it, no need to apologize. just sounded like shady advice you were given, and i wanted to make sure. i dont know everything either.

cody, it depends on the price i guess. might be worth the trouble if its cheap, but there could be a lot of things wrong.

The price is seems good, he wants 400 + shipping. Which in total seems about half of what I have found anywhere else, unless Dee gives really good deals. The comp numbers were dry ranging from 60-100 which basically lets me know that all the valves are still there and there aren't any pistons with holes in them.
