So I need a new piston for my finned head redtop. I'm guessing its a 1993 because of the fins. I found the OEM piston from our sponsor FRSport and others, they say its for a pulsar gti-r and has a 8.3:1 compression ratio. Then they later go on to say is is for all s13/s14/s15 engines. I don't want to have 1 cylinder at 8.3 and all others at 8.5. I read in one of the stickys about a difference in pistons throught the newer models but I thought it was just about cooling fins on the underside, not compression ratio. I am thinking of trying to just find a used one.

Yes, good, you can tear your motor apart with imbalance issues with diff comp. pistions. Whew smart choice. Yea, im sure it wont be hard to find a set of 4 used pictons for like 50-100 bucks.

Frpsport acutally has them for $55, but again the superior place is stating 8.3:1. So I guess there is no where to buy a redtop or early blacktop piston.
