Finally I'm keeping my Silvia. Now the problem is that my waterpump is leaking. The question is:Should I pay the big price and buy an OEM nissan or go jobber. The same question for the timing belt. Is it worth to pay the price.Thanx

PS: I heard that some are using the ca18et S12 waterpump. They are better?needs modification?

i would definetly go oem waterpump, i hear about crappy aftermarket pumps shredding propeller blades and shooting into engine haha. that alone makes me want it plus it's not that expensive from everythingnissan.com. also I'm going to tell you to go oem timing belt because I went power enterprise kevlar timing belt. just isn't worth it to skimp on crucial parts.

ps - i came in to check fsm while trying to do my headgasket. is it weird that I work on my car bare handed then put plastic gloves on to come inside?

OEM timing belts have the marks on them so you don't have to count the teeth. They also come with a little sticker that you can write the mileage/kilometers on so you'll know when to change it.

People have had problems with using the clutch fan with the FWD CA water pump. (e.g. the weight of the fan tearing the whole thing apart, as the FWD pump isn't designed for that use.) The RWD CA18ET is bolt on. I believe you have to swap pulleys if you use the CA18DE pump.
