I have a couple of chips on my crank pulley. I was wondering if this would create a balance problem. If so, should I go with another stock version or a brand like unorthodox? I plan on running everything as if it were stock when the build is complete.

Eh it'd probably run fine, but I'd replace it. I'd go with Unorthadox.

Yeah,You need to replace that pulley.Id go with the UR Pulley.Looks great,Gives you some very nice power gains.faster rev's,And best of all slows down the waterpump at high rpms [6000rpm and up].Where with the stock pulley the waterpump pretty much stops working. And your water temps go way up.If you have a aftermarket water temp gauge you can really tell the differents. After my install of the ur pulley when i would run the car hard up to 7500rpms the water temps Would only go up to around 185deg's from 150-160deg's.And with the stock pulley i would see 200-205deg's.Thats a big differents.

But if you wanna stick with stock thats cool to.I have one i can sell you.

How hard is the install? Did you go with the entire pulley set or just the crank?

Its very easy to install with the engine in or out of the car.Wont take longer then a hour. From start to finish. You will have to get new smaller belts. For the waterpump, alt, and Ps.Ac if you have it..And i just run the UR Crank Pulley alone.Other pulley's are just for looks. This is the best setup.I think.

A local shop told me that the UR can cause a knock and/or balance problem. Has yours been fine?

Thats just a myth.SR's have balanced crank's,So they dont relie on the crank pulley for balance. Its like saying if you put a aftermarket flywheel you will get enigne knock.Iv had my UR pulley for almost a year now and the car runs lots smoother then before.I know tons of people with UR crank pulleys. My freind has had one on his 200sx Se-R for like 5 years. With no problems.I had one on my KA for something like 3years.With no problems.Unorthodox racing has been around along time and knows what there doing.

Sounds like that's the one to go with then.
