For the adventurous, here's a shopping list of parts to install an OEM oil-to-water oil cooler. The substition parts are untested, and I'm not entirely sure where the hose going to the front connects (FSM shows it returning to the water pump, and sourcing from the block, see page LC-8 of the (english, find it on zilvia.net if you don't have it) S13 CA18DET FSM), but based on the FSM it should be trivial to get some T connectors or such if necessary and hook it up.

In short, it should be possible, if you can find an automatic KN13 0887-0688 model, to take the entire cooler assembly and related parts from it and mount it on the S13, replacing just a few O rings and such for paranoia's sake.

---begin shopping list---parts:21305S &nbsp &nbsp 21300-39F00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp COOLER SET-OIL (*)21307F &nbsp &nbsp 01555-00351 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CLAMP-HOSE (need 4)(**)21308J &nbsp &nbsp 14075-39F99 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CONNECTOR (*)21308M &nbsp &nbsp 21307-39F00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp HOSE-WATER,INLET (***)21308N &nbsp &nbsp 21307-39F10 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp HOSE-WATER,OUTLET (***)21309E &nbsp &nbsp 15239-D5700 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp GASKET (KN13 0887-0688) &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 08120-8251E &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp bolt/screw (**) &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 08120-86028 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp bolt/screw (**)

* = not available in US, either special order from european S13 CA18DET or try following substitutions:for 14075-39F99 (CONNECTOR):21308J &nbsp &nbsp 14075-30F00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CONNECTOR (KN13 0887-0688)

for 21300-39F00 (COOLER SET-OIL):21305S &nbsp &nbsp 21300-30F00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp COOLER SET-OIL (KN13 0887-0688)

** = generic parts easily available from dealer (hose clamp can use generic instead; bolt/screw 08120-86028 may not exist as something buyable, as it is listed in both S13 and KN13 and elsewhere parts but will not come up with a parts master search, hopefully only because its generic and not vehicle specific)

*** = not available in US, either special order from european S13 CA18DET or use custom fitted parts from generic stock (custom required if using substitute part above, as S13 hoses wouldn't line up)---end shopping list---

Below, illustrations from FAST (LHD Europe) of the S13 CA18DET oil cooler assembly, then from FAST (US) of the KN13 CA18DE (automatic only) oil cooler assembly for comparison. the cooler unit itself is somewhat different, but if you use all KN13 parts that should not be an issue as the parts where it mates to the block are the same, it would appear.

(edit: was going to post pics using the attatch file thing but they're too big)

well nissan uses the same oil filter for just about everything, so you should be able to use an adapter meant for RWD CAxxE/ET, KA24E/DE, VG30E/ET, GA16DE, Z24, more w/o a problem... (look on the oil filter box next time you get a nissan filter and you'll see what its compatible with - and if its compatible with those engines, then oil accessories for those engines that mount like a filter should be compatible with yours)

if you want to ditch the stock setup you might need to change out the oil filter stud on the block as the existing one is meant for being the right length to hook to the cooler assembly, not sure if its longer or shorter but there are different parts.

you should be able to get an oil filter stud from most CA motors that don't have oil coolers (i.e. our good friend the Pulsar NX 5spd hasn't got it, you can use the oil filter stud from that).

The part #'s for the non-cooler studs are:15213-21001 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp STUD-OIL FILTER15213-W0400 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp STUD-OIL FILTER

You only need one, -W0400 is the alternate part#, what you'd most likely get if you want to nissan and asked for a oil filter stud from X vehicle.
