Thinking about installing (without any cutting or Mods to interior panels) an updated Stereo system --- Technician says I need to buy a pair of Nissan "Non-BOSE" Speaker mounting brackets to replace the BOSE Powered Speaker Modules ---- I never heard of any 1990-'96 300ZX equipped with a Non-Bose stereo from Nissan -- Is there a Nissan "non-Bose" Rear Speaker Bracket available with a Nissan Part Number he is referring to or is this some aftermarket part that takes the place of the BOSE Speaker/AMP Module ?

Any clues would be helpful...

thanx,

david -

The 90 models (possibly 91 too) rears used larger 6.5" speakers, just have to rip out the Bose amps inside them.

All depends on what you want you want to spend. Some deeper (fatter magnet) speakers wont fit in the doors. I have always been partial to the old (pre-harmon) infinity stuff but thats hard to get a hold of now. Their newer stuff is nice but not as quality as their older stuff was. Generally if you want SQ you want components with cross overs to ensure you're not pushing the wrong frequencies to each cone. Do a search on how speaker crossovers work to get an understanding which should help you with the selection. I'd stay away from anything knock off (made in china shupped from HK) type of stuff.

Good advice 'NoLimitZ32' -- thank you ! [ below is my "no limits" RSV4 ]

I have no time to waste $ on "knock-offs" when Speakers are generally so inexpensive for decent quality.

Was looking at the https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108K62IXM ... -62ix.html (front)

and

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108K64CFX ... 64cfx.html (rear) Infinity Car Speakers -

Have a certain affinity with the brand for a long time as I still have (for 30 years/woofers relined 3 times) a set of Oak Infinity Reference Standard II's floor speakers in the house which have 5 (crossed-over) Ribbon Tweeters of varying frequency response ranges - Nice set powered by SAE -

Nice nolimit bike man. As for infinity car stereo the reference stuff used to be top notch and the kappa and kappa perfect was the bees knees but since Harmon Kardon took over the reference series stuff went to s***. I have a pair of reference 2 way 6.5s in my truck and they are equivalent to baseline jbls or "insert any run of the mill brand here". Their perfect components last time I checked (which was like 3 years ago) are still damn good but there are too many very nice and well priced components on the market for me to go after infinitys. My Z has the OG perfect components in it ans they sound amazing but if I were to replace them I don't know if I'd stay with infinity. If you want the duck's nuts quality look at focals top line but beware they are PRICEY!
