So I have a full turbo back system with oem mufflers currently, and I was wondering if you can or if anyone has gutted or opened them up before? And if not, would it even make a difference?

It would sound like AIDS, but I'm sure it would give some kind of power. Just save up, rock the stock system for now, and pick up a good exhaust system later. But seriously, don't gut the mufflers. That's a ricer thing to do.

Haha yea I suppose it probably would sound s***, It's probably a lot more work than it's worth anyways. I'm going to try and get the B&B or SZ quad tips this winter when the exhaust is off again anyways. Do you know if there is anywhere to get the Billy Boat muffler sections by themselves?

i don't think you can, but you can try contacting b&b themselves.

SZ or nothing. I'm pretty sure the B&B uses baffled mufflers, whereas SZ and Labree use the straight through.

ace, i have both exhausts, 3'', the b&b doesn't use baffled mufflers, they use a straight-through.

what exhaust do you run? and please, no offense intended (Aaron?, sorry i get names mixed up), but you gotta do some hw:

you stated that they (specialtyz and b&b) were affiliated before, when it was specialtyz and labree, and now that b&b uses baffled mufflers, they don't.

i like both, the specialtyz exhaust is GREAT, but b&b is pretty tough to beat, quality (i think a limited lifetime warranty) and looks-wise, their customer service just stinks.

IMHO, the best combination of looks and power is the 3" B&B exhaust, quad oval tip of course. The 3" Specialty Z will flow more, and still looks and sounds great, but the quad ovals make my pants tight.

For 2.5" I'd say the Specialty Z quad round is the best.

I run the Borla on the N/A and am saving for the SZ exhaust system for the TT. My statement was incurred from a previous post on TT.net. No offense, but TT.net forum layout makes my head hurt and just leaves me more confused at the end of the day, which is why I mainly stick around over here. I've read posts over there about B&B being baffled and about them being a straight through design, and honestly, I can't tell you who to believe over there.

However, the notion that B&B used to make exhausts with Greg Dupree came straight from Mr. Dupree's mouth one day a while back while I was on the phone with him. Greg used to be affiliated with both B&B and Labree.
