On my 2008 A/C with the OEM HID set up - one of the ballasts has gone bad. The OEM ballast is at least 8X the cost of some of the aftermarket options. I would like to use one of the high quality aftermarket options but I am confused on the connections for the OEM set up vs the aftermarket.

Would they be the same or would I have to do some wiring changes ? The only other experience I have with a ballast is the stock bulk connector plugs into the ballast and then another lead goes to the bulb.

They would be the same but are you planning on changing just one headlight?

Thanks for the input. I do plan on replacing both.

I spoke to the folks over at XenonDepot and they indicated I may have to change the connector but not a big deal. In any case a ballast is just 12v in is what they shared. So it is just a matter of getting power to the new ballasts.

I have a set of OEM HID ballasts that I'm not using. Don't go hacking up your connectors for something that is not compatible. PM if you're interested?
